Similarities Between Julius Caesar And Jesus

D ivus Julius is the god to which Julius Caesar was elevated to, after his death. In recent years, scholars (Kavoukopoulos, Cliteur, Carotta) have hypothesized the possibility of Jesus Christ being the historical figure of Divus Julius. There is a plethora of similarities and congruencies in the lives of the two individuals. These include the similar timeline which the two follow, as well as the fact that the people in these timelines are structurally the same, even by name and location. Further, their passions and posthumous fate are astonishingly alike when juxtaposed and connected. They are both excellent speakers and descendants of prestigious families; David and the Trojan hero and founder of Rome, Aeneas. Despite their background, they both are intelligent and make a name for themselves through their own work. They undergo difficulties and eventually, each has a victorious entry; Jesus on a donkey and Caesar on a horse. We think this inspite the following Biblical verse: 'But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father in heaven. Do not assume that I have come to bring peace to the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to turn ‘A man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. - Matthew, 10:34 Thus, Jesus rewards those who help his people and his cause. Clearly, these conditions are not at all peacefull, but rather war-like. He brings about the Kindom of God with violent meanseven if he did not want such methods to be used- just like Caesar
