World powers are usually created after political turmoil and usually encompass one key leader. In Rome this leader was Julius Caesar, who was appointed dictator for life and greatly changed the direction of Rome from a republic to an empire. In the United States, George Washington was a key military leader in the British Colonies’ war for independence and was the first president of the new country. Both Julius Caesar and George Washington had successful military backgrounds and experiences, and were dominant leaders in their fledgling countries, but they greatly differed in their motivations and ideology, which irrevocably shaped the longevity of their countries. Both Caesar and Washington had exceptional military careers which expanded their

Julius Caesar and William Shakespeare, if mentioned the only connection would be that of the play that Shakespeare composed regarding the iconic, and historical character, of Julius Caesar. In spite of the truth behind this, there is much more in common between the writer and the Roman emperor that what is on the surface; given of course the time period in which both lived and the different, yet similar, ways both rose to historical fame. Such can be said due to the fact that within both presentations of Julius Caesar and William Shakespeare's professional careers, and/or lives, there were clear instances in which the similarities between these two people were uncanny, such as the manner of rising to power, and the impact that was made on society
To Kill a Mockingbird and Julius Caesar are two very different writing pieces. One is a play on betrayal and politicians. The other is a well written book focusing on the topics of racism and rape. However, they believe that there are some similarities among those differences. We believe that differences will show up more often than similarities but we do set out to point out some points in this essay.
Abraham Lincoln came from a military background that helped him with his political background. He has started small but ended big. He was the president of the United States from 1861 through 1865. Abraham Lincoln was born in a little town located within Hardin Country, Kentucky on February 12, 1809 (www.whitehouse.gov/abrahamlincoln). He grew up dirt poor and in my opinion could be considered a frontiers man just like his father was. His mother on the other hand passed away when Lincoln was at a very young age. Lincoln was also in my opinion of great intelligence, hard worker, and a very ambitious young man. He would farm and run a store in New Salem, Illinois (www.whitehouse.gov). A little less known tale about him is that he was a very good wrestler back in the day and received his nick name “honest Abe” for walking a library book several miles to be returned. He met the love of his life May Todd after becoming a dynamic lawyer and had four young boys. Sadly only one lived to see adult hood (www.history.com). Abraham Lincoln became the 16th President of the United States of America in 1861.
