agree. Know what house you’ll be in yet?” “No,” said Harry, feeling more stupid by the minute. “Well, no one really knows until they get there, do they, but I know I’ll be in Slytherin, all our family have been — imagine being in Hufflepuff, I think I’d leave, wouldn’t you?” “Mmm,” said Harry, wishing he could say something a bit more interesting. “I say, look at that man!” said the boy suddenly, nodding toward the front window. Hagrid was standing there, grinning at Harry and pointing at two large ice creams to show he couldn’t come in. “That’s Hagrid,” said Harry, pleased to know something the boy didn’t. “He works at Hogwarts.” “Oh,” said the boy, “I’ve heard of him. He’s a sort of servant, isn’t he?” “He’s the gamekeeper,” said Harry. …show more content…
Harry cheered up a bit when he found a bottle of ink that changed color as you wrote. When they had left the shop, he said, “Hagrid, what’s Quidditch?” “Blimey, Harry, I keep forgettin’ how little yeh know — not knowin’ about Quidditch!” “Don’t make me feel worse,” said Harry. He told Hagrid about the pale boy in Madam Malkin’s. “— and he said people from Muggle families shouldn’t even be allowed in —” “Yer not from a Muggle family. If he’d known who yeh were — he’s grown up knowin’ yer name if his parents are wizardin’ folk. You saw what everyone in the Leaky Cauldron was like when they saw yeh. Anyway, what does he know about it, some o’ the best I ever saw were the only ones with magic in ‘em in a long line o’ Muggles — look at yer mum! Look what she had fer a sister!” “So what is Quidditch?” “It’s our sport. Wizard sport. It’s like — like soccer in the Muggle world — everyone follows Quidditch — played up in the air on broomsticks and there’s four balls — sorta hard ter explain the rules.” “And what are Slytherin and Hufflepuff?” “School houses. There’s four. Everyone says Hufflepuff are a lot o’ duffers, but —” “I bet I’m in Hufflepuff,” said Harry gloomily. “Better Hufflepuff than Slytherin,” said Hagrid darkly. “There’s not a single witch or wizard who went bad who wasn’t in Slytherin. You-Know-Who was one.” “Vol-, sorry —You-Know-Who was at Hogwarts?” “Years an’ years ago,” said Hagrid. They bought Harry’s school books in a shop called

Harry Potter is a fascinating tale of sorcerers, wands, broomsticks, dragons, and magic. The story begins with a young boy named Harry Potter who lives at number four Privit Drive, Surray, England. His journey begins after the death of his parents at the hands of the evil Lord Voldemort. Harry learns of his past and his future as a wizard from Hagrid, the keeper of keys and grounds at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He travels to Hogwarts where he learns spells and enchantments, makes new friends, finds enemies, and discovers fantastic secretes. J.K. Rowling weaves a web of impeccable storytelling with this critically acclaimed novel. In the tale of Harry Potter imagery, symbolism, and motif take central focus.
‘When Harry Met Sally’ is a romantic comedy set from the mid 1970’s to the mid-to-late 1980’s. From the beginning the film seemed like the perfect example from Mark Knapp’s 10 stages of relational development. There was a plethora of talking and Harry was quite witty while Sally was very sweet and up-beat. As a personal opinion, at first the film seemed to be slightly boring plot-wise – a man and a woman meet to travel a ways to the city? Sounds like the perfect situation to ‘fall in love’ in and have a happily ever-after. Though, as more of the movie was watched, it became more interesting and less of an assignment requirement.
My book report is on the book 'Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone' by J.K.
Many people believe that there is only one world that exist, but what they didn’t know is there is another world out there that seems to be out of the ordinary. A young boy named Harry Potter lives in a normal world and has no clue of what has yet to come for him. As his eleventh birthday strikes at midnight a man whose name is Hagrid, from the wizard world, reveals to Harry that he is not just human in the muggle world (a world where people were born without magic), but he is a wizard that is known as “The boy who lived” and it is time for him to start his training. As Harry Potter leaves the muggle world to attend to wizard school known as, Hogwarts, he experiences many strange adventures that may cause him to adjust because both worlds combined
“Come on, Harry, you can’t be late for your first day of Sophomore year,” Sirius Black spoke to his godson. “well, you can, but as your legal guardian I say you can’t,” he added as an afterthought. Harry, however, wasn’t truly listening. He hadn’t gone to bed early the night before, his sleeping schedule still out of whack from summer vacation, and now he was insanely tired. He wanted to do nothing more but go straight back to sleep and possibly sleep for twenty years.
There is a sport in the magical world of Harry Potter called Quidditch. Harry ends up playing of the Quidditch team as a seeker, which is a player who finds a tiny, gold ball that flies through the air and the seeker must catch it in order to win the match. The Quidditch match in the film is an exhilarating part of the film. The entire school is at the match to watch the games. The crowd is excited which excites the audience watching.
Harry repressed a snort with difficulty. The Dursleys really were astonishingly stupid about their son, Dudley; they had swallowed all his dim-witted lies about having tea with a different member of his gang every night of the summer holidays. Harry knew perfectly well that Dudley had not been to tea anywhere; he and his gang spent every evening vandalizing the play park, smoking on street corners, and throwing stones at passing cars and children. Harry had seen them at it during his evening walks around Little Whinging; he had spent most of the holidays wandering the streets, scavenging newspapers from bins along the way.
October comes around which brings lots of rain. Quidditch practice continues and one night when Harry is walking through the castle, he sees Nick, a gryffindor ghost. Nick is looking sad and Harry asks why, just to be told he has been rejected from the headless hunt because his head ncant come all the way off. The conversation is short, because Mrs. Norris sees them, and Nick tells Harry to leave, so he doesnt get in trouble for bringing in mud. Harrys caught and brought to the office, he was writing a punishment, but is interrupted by a loud noise. When hes gone Harry looks into an open envelope on the desk and finds something called a Kwikspell for wizards who arent full magic. He puts it back before Filch returns, but he notices the envelope
A man named Albus Dumbledore, the head wizardry of Hogwarts, meets Professor McGonagall, who is a teacher at Hogwarts, and a person named Hagrid and they are outside the Dursley house . Dumbledore tells McGonagall that a Dark and very powerful wizardry named Voldemort has killed a Mr. and Mrs. Potter and tried to kill their baby named Harry Potter , Hanamedrry. Dumbledore leaves Harry with a note in a basket in front of the Dursley home for them to take care of Harry.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone The movie Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone is the very first of seven movies. The movie emphasizes the value of humility with the role of Harry Potter. The movie Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone has many great themes, which included heroism and is a great reason to watch it. To continue, the role of Harry Potter shows humility in just a few brilliant ways.
Harry Potter is midway through his training as a wizard and his coming of age. Harry wants to get away from the pernicious Dursleys and go to the International Quidditch Cup. He wants to find out about the mysterious event that's supposed to take place at Hogwarts this year, an event involving two other rival schools of magic, and a competition that hasn't happened for a hundred years. He wants to be a normal, fourteen-year-old wizard. But unfortunately for Harry Potter, he's not normal - even by wizarding standards. And in his case, different can be
“Not Slytherian, not Slytherian, Harry thought.” Harry might not have wanted to be in Slytherian, but I would’ve told the Sorting Hat otherwise. Slytherian is the best house for me. I went for Slytherian for many reasons. I think this house will be the best fit for me and I can’t wait to accomplish many things there.
Harry Potter rushing into action in a dangerous and mystifying wizard duel. Lyra Belacqua storming into the cold and barren arctic on the back of a terrifying polar bear. Tom Sawyer saving the life of Becky Thatcher as they starve nearly to death. All these characters are strong, confident and demand our attention. They are the obvious heroes. While it may not come to mind right away, there are two unconventional characters to add to this list. Michael and Skellig, of David Almond’s “Skellig”, without a doubt have a spot reserved on the long list of heroes in children 's literature. While it is true, this duo is not seeing in any action-packed scenes, nor are they found in desperate crisis, these two bring a whole new side of heroism to the table. Hero, as defined by the Merriam-Webster dictionary is, “a person who is admired for great or brave acts or fine qualities; a person or character who, in the face of danger and adversity or from a position of weakness, displays courage, bravery or self-sacrifice; courageous and brave” (Hero, 2015). In their own ways each of these two saves their other. Michaels heroism stems from his selflessness that is seen in his every reaction to his ill baby sister and his compassion and acceptance of Skellig. Equally, Skellig is a hero in his own right. He overcomes his fear of the outside world to save Michael from his unrealized self-deprecation, as well as his sister Joy.
In her novels Rowling always makes us sympathize with Harry. In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry is the youngest contestant in the tournament. As opposed to the others he has little knowledge on how to perform most spells and relies solely on skill. His fear is therefore grounded. The movie does nothing but strengthen this idea. In the movie we actually get to see Harry’s expressions, for example, when his name is thrown out of the Goblet. Likewise, Dumbledore’s rage and shock as well as the students surprise and anger make us understand how dangerous the tournament is. Professor McGonagall’s genuine concern for Harry solidifies this fear. It is also very obvious in the movie that Harry is maturing. Not only does he look taller and bigger than in the previous movies; his actions are a lot wiser too. His modesty with
