When Spanish missionaries entered the Philippines during the mid-1500s, they found that the fiesta was a convenient tool to help teach Filipinos the Roman Catholic faith. It sounds normal and there is nothing special about it anymore because even our ancestors practiced this before. It is not also a problem because we are hospitable and we have the innate ability to entertain our guests. The Bayanihan, on the other hand, happens especially when we help each other cooking foods, setting places or organizing events --- there's unity between us. These characteristics of ours prove our country's slogan "It's more fun in the Philippines" is accurate, most especially in the eyes of foreign people. It was used in ancient times to spot each member from the Aztec Indian Tribe. Anyone who was born in Mexico was seen as a Mexicano. Although most people don't know the difference an Chicano isn't a Mexican, he/she is a Mexican-American that was born and current lives in the United States since the early 20th century.
