School holiday. What come in your mind when I talk about school holiday? Surfing internet? Watching movies? Oh, maybe sleeping all day long? I am sure that the answers of different individuals will certainly differ. I guess all of you are looking forward and surely can’t wait for the next school holiday. Oh yes, our semester break is just around the corner, right? I can guarantee that school holiday is what all students love the most. When asked people about school holiday, many of them have the opinion that students should have longer school holiday. I wonder why. Is it because when students are having their holiday, they can forget all their homework or assignments and do not care about their study at all? In my opinion, students should …show more content…
In the next part of my speech, I will tell you that school holiday will cause the students to involve in illegal activities and crime. My fellow friends, a long school holiday is not good for students. School holiday allow more students and teenagers to be involved in illegal activities and crime. Nowadays, either illegal activities or crime among youth are very hot issues in our country. For your information, most work places do not have the same holiday time. Because of this, many of the students are left alone at home during school holiday. This is not a good situation because when the students, especially the teenagers do not get their parents’ attention, they will tend to join so many kinds of illegal activities and crime such as wild parties, drugs and clubbing. Regarding to a report made by The Royal Malaysian Police or Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM) in 2007, a total of 3446 cases of theft and burglary crimes were committed by youth. This report has not been included yet other crime such as adultery, black metal, drugs and many more. So how do you feel? Do you think that this is a good thing for young generation like us? Holiday is a time when the levels of youth offending
Summer break is supposed to be a time of rest and rejuvenation for students. After nine months of hard work and challenging classes, one would think such a long break could do nothing but good for students; however, this is not the best way for young minds to learn. A three month break is far too long for children to go without proper education and supervision. Instead of a long three month break at the end of each school year, why not give students the same number of days off but spread them out more frequently throughout the year? Year-round education is a more efficient, globally competitive, and fair alternative to the traditional nine month school year.
Attention Grabber: Jeremy Bloom is the youngest man in history to make the “U.S. Ski Team, he was national champion while still in high school and world champion and Olympian at age 19 (Pullen, 2015). He nearly missed medaling in the Olympics. I wonder what he might
The first reason why kids should have a summer break is that it makes school less complicated. According to Jennifer Brozak, a disadvantage of having a year round school is that the school budget has to increase. They will need to have more fundraisers in order to keep the school going. If they neglect to get the amount of money they need they sometimes cancel and let the students have a summer break. In addition, teachers are having difficulty with planning lessons for students and grading papers in a short amount of time they have (Brozak). In addition, Brozak says, because of the short amount of time teachers have to grade papers they are prone to burnout. This is one of the reasons that schools should have a summer break because both teachers and students’ mental pressure because of work (Brozak). As a student, I can say that breaks will be necessary to recharge and prepare myself
Intro: In 1789, President George Washington offered the first Presidential Thanksgiving Proclamation for the newly formed United States of America. His proclamation began "Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor - and Whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me "to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness."
The average school period is one hundred and eighty days with small breaks in between and a three-month break during summer to ease students’ minds and let them relax. The Board of Education should make all schools in the United States year-round to increase educational time and decrease the loss of knowledge over the breaks. It gives students the same time to relax and plan family vacations periodically throughout the year, but never creates the stress of changing sleep schedules that summer break changes. Not only is it a good way to enhance education, but it also is better for planning family events, positive effects on budget, academic achievement, and could decrease the absence rate of students.
In Mexico, Dia de los Muertos is a celebration to honor the dead. This holiday was made for people struggle with losing loved ones, and celebrating it was found to be a good way to help them cope. Families can be seen in the cemetery bringing festive gifts to memorialize lost members.
Summer breaks enable families to vacation, go to theme parks, and spend days at the beach. As Care.com states "American families have become accustomed to the traditional long summer vacation. Parents may find it difficult to schedule vacations and family reunions." Since there is less time off for kids they are goanna find it hard or more difficult to go anywhere or do anything with their kids. Lynch says, “The most obvious downside of year-round school is the effect it can have on families. Quality family time is important to the emotional and developmental well being of a child”. Schools forget children need to do something with their family’s some times and they need to see cousins and grandparents and if they do year round school schedule parents will find it nearly impossible to schedule any time with other relatives. Kids need to see their grandparents and cousins once in a while with year round schooling that will be a hard task to
Every students is ready for that last day of school, but now schools are considering to take that excitement away from students with year long school. There are so many negatives to this choice and i'm going to discuss same of them.
Students need time to relax and de-stress. With the accumulation of homework, projects, assignments, tests and quizzes, students are constantly working and have no time to relax. This can be overwhelming, but students still put in the effort just to make it through the year because they know they can rest in the summer. Furthermore, this could cause students to become unmotivated because they will think that they are trapped in a prison in which they are boundlessly doing work and will never meet their own goals. A longer vacation will allow us to clear our minds and open them to new possibilities that would not be possible if we were to follow the same routine every day. Likewise, it is not only the students that need this vacation, but it is also the staff and faculty as well who would definitely rather see their family and friends instead of the students for a whole year. Most of these families go on holidays, but sometimes
First, students should not go to school all year round because their minds would not be as clear. Although there are still breaks, that's is not enough time between studies. With one long break, students have their thoughts on fun during the break and studies during the school year. Students will not be paying as much attention. If you just go off a small break or are even waiting for one, your mind is most likely thinking about what fun things to do on break instead of what the teacher
Some supportive evidence is that we have been fine doing a summer break in the middle. we do need to continue school for a year round then students would be ten times more educated than an average kid . More education can be gained; However, it can be at risk at home and gaining anxiety. My thesis compares to paragraph three because I am saying how I disagree with how free time is taken away from someones life. My thesis is different because even tho education can be increased , but a human brain cannot handle that much information all at
Thank you for your dedication to providing an excellent education system for all students in District 203. Your hard work has made the district have very high rankings and be one of the best districts in the state. As a student at Naperville Central High School, I understand that all school days are important and that they all count towards our grades. In spite of that, many Muslim students have no choice but to miss school due to an Islamic holiday called Eid. Therefore, there should be a day off on the only religious holiday that is celebrated by Muslims.
Anyone can eat soul food on any particular day of the year. However, it is something distinctive about preparing and eating soul food on Thanksgiving Day. Soul food is considered to be fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, collard greens, breaded fried okra and yams. The preparation and consumption of soul food have been a staple in my family’s tradition for many generations. Perchance the food tastes better because of the cool crisp air, or maybe it’s the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. I honestly don’t know why, but I feel like this should be a paten scientific theory. Everything just feels right on this day, as if the world halts for a split second and it is at harmony. Possibly that is why the food is cooked to perfection. Even the process of preparing the meal is practically better than eating the food.
Draft speech of Mrs. D. Purandeswari, MoS-HRD (HE) as Chief Guest on the occasion of the Annual Day of the Rainbow Concept School, Mahaboobnagar, A.P on 9th February, 2007 at 5.30 p.m.
In the speech “Remarks by the President in a National Address to America’s Schoolchildren” by Barack Obama, he encourages students to try hard in school because education will further their success in the future. President Obama uses the reasoning that with education students will have responsibility just like those around them to achieve high standards. Students must also try hard in school to get their work completed and not give up on their education and make going to college a goal of theirs. Students need to have responsibility, try hard on their education, and be aware that they have many educational opportunities.
