Saint Albert the Great was a patron of scientists. He was very important and still is today. I chose him because he seemed like the kind of person I want to be, he was respected and he was kind to even his enemys. This saint is important to me because he claims to have met the blessed mother and I think that thats very special. Saint Albert was born in Bavaria, Germany. He came from a wealthy family and was well educated. He attended the university of Padua, this is where he first learned about faith. When st the university he learned about Aristotle. This was his foundation in faith. Later in his life he had an encounter with the blessed Mother, this moved him to become a meme bear of the Dominican Order. Saint Albert the Great was involved
Deep in the thick swamps and woods of Northern Gulf County, amidst the buzz and sting of mosquitoes, chirps of squirrels, and swirls of the Apalachicola, is a long-lost story. One hundred and eighty years ago the town of Iola sprang out of the cypress swamp of what is now north east Gulf County. That small community, was, and still is an enigma in the wilderness of territorial Florida and has all but faded from the memory of Gulf County and is nothing but a boat ramp now.
Throughout my daily life I turn to him for help. He helps to relieve my stress and to assist me through my struggles. I am very excited for Sebastian to be my patron saint and to help me through the Confirmation process. He was martyred for his faith, so I admire him. His faith was so strong that he was willing to die rather than let go of his beliefs. In my opinion, he paid the ultimate price. I pray that Sebastian will help me have that same courage every day to speak the Lord’s word and to spread the Catholic faith. The bravery that Saint Sebastian showed is inspiration to me to live my life for Christ and through
I chose Saint Raphael the Archangel as my confirmation saint. I chose this saint because this is the first saint I learned about. I always looked upon this saint as my favorite saint because of his strong relationship with God and because I knew this saint the longest. I also chose this saint because his name means "God Heals." Saint Raphael the Archangel had an interesting life in faith and a strong relationship with God. Most people know this saint because he is one of the seven archangels and a part of the group of three archangels talked about in the Bible.
St.Michael the Archangel actually helps people so much even some people today. St.Michael helps people find the courage to face danger and carry on (St.Michael the archangel 12). St.Michael helps/affects people today because he has a prayer which helps and makes people feel stronger every time they pray it (Saint Michael Center 4). People who face danger every day working to protect us find that St.Michael’s medal fortifies their faith and reinforces their commitment to the protection for others (St.Michael the Archangel 12). The Archangel St.Michael is the patron saint of the warrior, who catholics have designated as the protector of those who strive to preserve security, safety, and peace (St.Michael the archangel 1). As such members of
"What dear brothers, is more delightful than the voice of the Lord calling to us?" ~ Saint Benedict. Benedict was born on March 2, 480 in Norcia, Italy. As a child, Benedict attended primary school in his hometown. However, he then traveled to Rome to continue his studies in literature and law. Appalled by Rome's political issues, Benedict decided to leave the city and reside with a group of priests. In the ministry, he preformed his first miracle. Benedict restored a broken wheat sifter to its perfect condition. Astonished by his actions, Benedict set out to dwell in a cave isolated from society. Consumed by desolation, Benedict's only contact with the outside world was a fellow monk named Romanus. He bestowed Benedict with basic necessities
My confirmation saint is ST. George. St. George was born circa 280 in Cappadocia, an area that is now part of Turkey. I chose St. George because he was brave in professing his faith. St. George was raised as a catholic and had a father who was martyred for his faith. At a young age, St. Georgie served in the Roman army under the Emperor Diocletian and was applauded many times for his excellent service to the Empire. From the rule of the Emperor Decian, until 284 A.D., when Diocletian became Emperor, the Christian Church went through a period of peace. After Diocletian had repressed the barbarian tribes which were attacking the Empire and after he had held its borders, he began to concentrate on the Empire's inner affairs. Diocletian believed
When I was in third grade, I received my Confirmation with the Confirmation name of Saint Maria. In the Greensburg Diocese, Confirmation names were the child’s middle name, so I did not have a choice in who my Confirmation saint would be. I chose to research Saint Lucia because her name has the same meaning as my first name. I also chose to research her because she has a very interesting, and powerful story about the trials and tribulations she went through to devote her life to
The saint of life, Saint Brahamus was both a child of a wealthy banking family within Florence but also one of the two children who had stumbled upon the literature created by the then Alcemene. Him and his sister's would never be the same from that day on, the two were influenced heavily by their parents to take a more scholarly outlook on life. They hoped to make him a man of cloth, hopefully to soon become the courts chaplain and aid in their families primary faith. Little did they know this would only inspire him to look at the documents they found in a more religion light. He and his sister would constantly study from the book- attempting to learn what really happened that fateful night under the moonlight. All they knew for sure is that their house's governess was missing with no trace
St Anthony was an Egyptian saint born in 251. He was born into a Christian family who were very faithful and pious. Anthony grew up to be a respectful child, and he was taught to be very obedient to his parents. As a child, Anthony was raised in the Christian faith and was brought to church. He created a strong bond with God and this caused Anthony to be very devout and faithful. These qualities lead St Anthony to be a faithful person (Orthodox Church in America). St Anthony was a very important saint due to his faithfulness that helped him and his many accomplishments.
My doctor of the church is St. Leo the Great. St. Leo the Great was born in Tuscany, Italy where he was sent to Gaul, somewhere in Western Europe, to settle a dispute between Aetius and Albinus, the two highest officials. While he was away Pope Sixtus 111 died and Leo was elected by the people to become pope. On his mission Leo defended the true divinity and true humanity of Christ. He also taught about Christ’s presence in the Church. St. Leo the Great fought heresies and at one time even burned their books and warned the Roman Christians against them. Leo strongly said that everything he did and said as pope for the administration of the church represented Christ, the head of the Mystical Body. In 452 Attila the Hun advanced toward Rome to
Saint Anthony of Egypt was a saint that was considered the father of organized monasticism and was known for living an angelic and inspirational life. Saint Anthony was born in the year of 251 AD in Egypt and died on January 17, 356 in Egypt as well. Saint Anthony lived out his calling from God by becoming a monk and living in the mountains to grow closer to God through prayer. Saint Anthony was a very inspirational saint that lived an extraordinary life and was a very different saint from the others. (Saint Anthony of Egypt).
St. Francis of Assisi was born in Assisi, duchy of Spoleto, Italy in 1181. His Father was a wealthy cloth merchant who owned farmland around Assisi. In his early years, he was spoiled, indulging himself with fine food, wine, and wild celebrations. By 14 he was already a rebellious teenager who drank, partied and broke a lot of rules. But he was also known to be charming and for his vanity.
When asked to write about a saint the one that comes to mind is Saint Luke. The reason he comes to mind is because that is the church we go to at home, St. Luke's Catholic Church. That is the reason why I chose him. For the reason the church we go to is names after him and I always wanted to know more information about who he was as a person.

Saint Peter was born in Bethsaida Gaulanitis, Syria Roman Empire at around 1 AD. Peter’s feast day is on the twenty ninth of June. Bethsaida Gaulanitis was near where the Jordan River enters the Sea of Gennesaret. This place was abandoned at around 65 AD. Peter’s original name appointed to him by his parents was Simon, it became Peter when Jesus changed his name. His father’s name was Jonah. Jonah was a physically strong individual, hence he became a fisherman. Peter deeply followed in his father’s footsteps. His mother’s name was Perpetua. Not much is known about her. Peter also had a brother named, Andrew. Andrew was another one of Jesus’s twelve disciples. Peter did not go to school, he was just taught by his father in the trade of fishing
