For my Confirmation I choose St.Marguerite Bourgeoys. Marguerite was born on April 17, 1620. Marguerite had survived many difficulties in the twenty-six years she had been in wilderness of Canada. She had survived the Iroquois attacks, a fire that destroyed her village, and plagues on the ships that she took back and forth to France, but nothing could stop her from achieving her dreams. The only thing that threatened her hopes and dreams more than anything else was what her own bishop told her in 1679. He had told her that she had to join her Congregation of Notre Dame with its teaching sisters to a religious order of Ursulines that stayed in one place and were close together. I chose to write about St. Elizabeth Ann Seton because I have always loved her very caring, loving, and kind spirit. I also, chose her because my middle name and confirmation name is Elizabeth and I have always felt a connection to her.

The saint I chose was St. Germaine Cousin. I chose her because she is someone who went through so much and devoted her life to God even when life became a struggle for her.

When I was told to choose a saint to be my patron saint for Confirmation, I thought the choice was obvious for me. It took me just a few moments and one quick touch to my neck to remember my patron saint, Saint Sebastian. I have a medal that I wear every time I leave the house with a picture of Saint Sebastian that says “Saint Sebastian Pray For Us.” I was given this medal when I was very young.

When picking my Confirmation Saint, I wanted someone who inspired me, who I was interested in, and who I could strive relate to. A Saint who perfectly fit this description for me was St. Helen.

For my Saint report, I chose Saint Veronica. Saint Veronica is known as the lady who offered a fabric to Jesus so he could wipe his face while in transit to his torturous killing. The material is accepted to exist today in the Vatican and is viewed as a standout amongst the most prized relics of the Congregation. Saint Veronica is not specified in the book of scriptures, but rather is known not by Catholic custom and in the 6th Station of the Cross, "Veronica Wipes the Substance of Jesus."

I feel ready to take on the responsibility of Confirmation. I have been well prepared by my loving and helpful teachers. During the course of seventh grade, I’ve been doing community service. I helped teachers decorate the classroom and helped them get organized for the next day’s lessons. I felt fulfilled helping all those people. I matured and learned what it means to be a true Catholic. I want to receive Confirmation, because I want to fully be in the Catholic community. I want to fully accept and acknowledge my faith and beliefs. I want to receive the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. I want to receive fortitude, to have the courage to share my faith with others. I want to receive understanding and counsel, to help relate with people in difficult times.

Sarah G. Bagley was born in Meredith, 1820. Sarah also had two brothers and one sister named Henry, Thomas, and Mary Jane. Her mothers name is Rhoda and Sarah’s father is Nathan Bagley. The mother and father work on farms, sold land, and owned a small mill to support their family. Sarah's first job was at the age of 30 she worked in Lovell in the Hamilton Mills.

Queen Esther Julia Kapiolani Napelakapuokakae, other known Queen Kapiolani, was born on December 31,1834 in Hilo, Hawaii, and died on June 24, 1899 in Waikiki. She was married to David Kalakaua and both of them changed Hawaii. Queen Kapiolani is one of Hawaii’s greatest monarchs because of her good morals, she created the Iolani Palace, and she created Queen Kapiolani Medical Center

Catherine of Siena was born in Italy in 1347 at a time when political and religious changes were affecting the hierarchy of the Catholic Church. Dedicating her life to the Holy Spirit from a very young age, Catherine pursued a life of purity and simplicity that served as a background to her great literary work, The Dialogue of the Divine Providence . Her work focuses on the importance of prayer and its transcendent power in human life.

In Florida and across the nation there are countless men and women who work to serve and protect us every day. Countless Hispanic-Americans have gone the extra mile to make Florida admirable place to live, including Maria Andreu. Maria Andreu made her mark as a Hispanic-American because she took up the responsibilities of her husband, she willing worked many laborious tasks, and represented herself as not only a Hispanic American, but also as a woman.

I chose St. Margaret as my patron saint because she gave a lot of time and money to the poor. She read the Bible daily, even though people (like her husband) didn’t have the same beliefs as her. She was focused on her faith and encouraged people in her life to live a devout life and grow in prayer and holiness. I am choosing St. Anastasia because she made it through tough times with her faith always in God. St. Anastasia was not canonized, she has been declared a saint by the early Christian community based on her life of heroic virtue and her martyrdom. St. Anastasia spent her time caring for the prisoners. She would feed them and care for them if they were ill. The prisoners she cared for were not there for any violent crimes, but were locked up for being Christian. A virtue that I identitfy with St. Anastasia is charity because I help people that are in need and out of the kindness of my heart. St. Francis of Assisi was born in Umbria in the year 1182. He was a child every father hoped for, he was filled with life, a determined and courageous individual. He was gifted with rather good looks, qualities that attracted friends and a gift of leadership. His father was an extremely wealthy merchant in Assisi. But this son, his favourite, was the one who broke Peter Bernardone’s heart. The boy turned on his father, and in a vicious event that eventually resulted into a public scene. St. Francis of Assisi stepped away from his father, his business and left his father in a state of immense emotional suffering.
