Heroes are not always the one who flies around saving the world from evil villains. Heroes can be ordinary people. Or people with brilliant intellects. Providing the world with newfound information about the Universe. Stephen Hawking is one such hero. Born in Oxford London, Hawking worked hard in his career to help make science able to be accessible to everyone, as well as becoming one of the most noticeable cosmologists since Isaac Newton.

Three years later he emerges with a first class honors degree in Natural Science, without much effort. Stephen Hawking later goes on to Cambridge University to do research in Cosmology. Hawking gained his Ph.D. and became a Research Fellow. Stephen Hawking did much for the society of science, filled with scientists young and old. Prior to leaving the Institute of Astronomy in 1973, he came to the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics in 1979. Stephen Hawking held the post of Lucasian Professor of Mathematics from 1979 until 2009, which is an imposing feat. “Professor” Hawking has twelve honorary degrees, and was made a Companion of Honor in 1989. He has also written many manuscripts including “The Large Scale Structure of Space-time with G F R Ellis,” “General Relativity: An Einstein Centenary Survey, with W Israel,” and “300 Years of Gravity, with W Israel,” in which he presented many theories to help better understand the universe and its mysteries.
