The King Of Horror Stephen King
Stephen King is known to be one of the best horror writers out there. Born in Portland Maine Stephen King was raised by a single mother named Nellie Ruth. Stephens father Donald Edwin disappeared one night after saying he was stepping out for cigarettes then never return home. So Stephen never saw his father again and him and his mother were on their own. After the father abandon them they decided to move a settle down in Stratford Connecticut but would move back to Main when he was eleven. In his spare time he was working on a novel called “Carrier” published in 1974, which was about as young girl bullied at school and a discovery that she has telekinetic powers. She uses these powers to get revenge on the people that bullied her. Carrier was Stephen King's first published paper and sold over 30,000 copies. His next novel he wrote made him known around the world “The Shining”.The Shining was about a hotel closing down for the winter “Overlook Hotel” , when the hotel maintainer Jack Torrance gets comply possessed a evil spirit. Jack becomes a monster under control by this spirit and says “This inhuman place makes human monsters” (King 144). Eventually they made a movie off the novel in 1980 which was a huge hit at the time. And the most known scene from the movie is when Jack breaks through the door and say “Here's Johnny”!. In present today The Shining is used as a foundation and guid for horror writers. He wrote “Salem's Lost” which was nominated for best novel in 1976, “Pet Sematary” was another famous novel that he wrote and later on became a movie, Also another well known novel was “The Green Mile” and became a movie later that starred Tom Hanks. Throughout his whole career he wrote a total of 131 books and novels and many of them became moveis many years later. His novels get translated in over 33 languages and published in over 35 countries. Stephen King is truly a “master of horror” and provide us of what horror stories should be. In 1999 King got into a accident he was walking beside a highway were a car hit him which left him in critical condition. He had injuries to his lungs,broken ribs, broken legs, and a badly fractured hip. From short stories to fantasy and horror novels the ‘science fiction author’ Ray Bradbury entertains millions with his works. Known from his most famous novel Fahrenheit 451, “ a dystopian study of future American society in which critical thought is outlawed” (“Ray Bradbury” 1). Bradbury was not solely tied to novel writing ‘he had many irons in the fire’ he had several article published in numerous newspapers, he wrote many screenplays for movies, and also created his own HBO television series. “He wrote numerous screenplays and treatments, including a 1956 take on Moby Dick. In 1986, Bradbury developed his own HBO television…” (“ Ray Bradbury” 1) . Bradbury’s life works still touch and entertain millions of people, his timeless words shall ring for eternity.
Who is Michael King Jr ?, Michael King Jr was a Baptist Minister and social activist who was born in January 15, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia, and was later assassinated on April 4, 1968. In his early years he overcame Ebenezer Baptist church with another 13 colleagues. Later by 1926 he married his wife Alberta and changed his name to Martin Luther King Jr to honored his father.
He had one of the longest careers in literature writing from the late 1930s up to the early 2010s. His most popular work, however, was Fahrenheit 451. This book launched him into fame and has been very popular ever since. He also wrote other popular novels such as The Illustrated Man and A Medicine for Melancholy as well as dozens of other novels and hundreds of short stories, screenplays, and poems. These many writings have brought Bradbury countless awards. He has won an Emmy for a television script and has been nominated for an academy award. He also won a lifetime achievement award and has a star on the Hollywood walk of fame. Despite his numerous awards, perhaps his greatest one was one he did not win. Doctor Strange was once a brilliant and proficient neurosurgeon. After days and years of being a skilled neurosurgeon, he one day had an atrocious car accident. He ended up having faulty injuries mainly his hands. As a neurosurgeon, you must need steady hands in order for you not to mess up in any type surgery. Now that he damaged his hands badly, he is not able to perform his everyday skill activity. Stephen needs to move on but he keeps trying his best to bring back the time he once had before the car accident and injuries. Stephen decided search places all around the globe for a place he or others can heal his hands and then he encounters the Ancient One. Stephen then became an old sorcerer supreme student to learn, practice the mystical arts and martial arts thinking he would learn how to heal himself. As he was learning mystic arts, he found two items which gave him additional powers which made himself more powerful than other sorcerer students. Since he got more additional powers, he fought threats from mystical creatures and magicians. By preventing these threats, he saves the earth from being replaced with the dark dimension.

Stephen King is one of my favorite writers of science fiction. Each of his book is simply amazing, is not an exception and the book "Different Seasons", I read it with great pleasure for a few days. "Different Seasons", which was released in 1982, contains four stories. Each story has a subtitle that associates it with one of the seasons. The structure includes such works -Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption (Hope Springs Eternal), Apt Pupil (Summer of Corruption), The Body (Fall From Innocence), The Breathing Method (Winter’s Tale). Getting to know King’s background is the first step into his mind, second step is learning about his career and third step is what inspires Stephen himself, to write books that the world loves so much.
