Stephen King was born in September 21, 1947 to Donald Edwin and Nellie Ruth. King is a big Boston Red Sox fan. “When Stephen was two years old, his father left the family under the pretense of “going to buy a pack of cigarettes” (Smith). King never forgave his father for leaving his mother and he tried to help mother when he can. Nellie had to raise Stephen and his older brother, David, by herself, it was not easy but they got by and helped each other with things. “Introduced to horror fiction in an ironic twist when he discovered an H.P. Lovecraft volume in a box of his father’s abandoned belongings, he then was hooked on scary books” (Smith). His wife found the papers and told him to finishes the book no matter what he had to do. His books have been in films like Carrie, The Shinning, Pet Seminary, and so many more. Kings books have his own words on every page. “On June 19, 1999, about 4:30 p.m., King was walking on the shoulder of Maine State Route 5, in Lovell, Maine” (Uncyclopedia). He was with his wife and children. “Bryan Edwin Smith, distracted by an unrestrained dog moving in the back of his minivan, he hit King. King landed into the ground about 14 feet (4 meters) from the pavement of Route 5” (Uncyclopedia). King sued Bryan for 5,000 dollars and won. A lot of King’s fiction and also some of his nonfiction would be published under his pseudonym Richard Bachmen, he also had a lot of help from his wife Tabitha. “King’s shortest novel-readers who come late to the author’s work one incredulous contains narrative elements and stylistic quirks easily identifiable in his later work” (Smith). He means by this is that his short stories don’t really mean that much to him tell he started to do them more. “King experiments in his most recent books with whatever material he sees fit”
