Stereotyping has lived in the human world for a long time. It is seen throughout our history. It was mainly recognized in Africa because of its unfamiliar culture. However, Africans are probably not aware of why their culture is not accepted.

In ancient Africa, there were more than 1,000 different languages spoken. Africa had not developed writing skills yet so much of its history and literature were passed down orally from generations to generations thus, it's history is a bit unclear. In the post classical period, Africa was considered as uncivilized due to its unfamiliar traditions. In Africa, people were more united and the women's were treated better than other civilizations. Even so, their ways and traditions caused opinions to rise from civilizations outside of Africa. In the Sudanese Latuka Tribe, a man kidnaps a woman he wants to marry while elders in the man’s family ask the girl’s father for permission. If the father does not agree, the man can forcefully marry the girl anyways. In the Maasai tribe, spitting is considered a sign of goodwill and it is used in greetings. In the Suku tribe, when an elder dies, a public ceremony is performed in the clearing of a forest hosted by other elders. This ceremony however, is off limits for outsiders and women.
