Stanley Allison Rogers was born on November 29, 1949 to Nathan Allison and Valerie Rogers in Hamilton, Ontario. He had one brother, Garnet Rogers, who was six years younger than him. Stan was raised in Woodburn, Ontario, though he spent most summers visiting his family in Guysborough County, Nova Scotia. His uncle built him his first guitar when he was only five years old.
