To decide who the better villain is they must be compared to the criterion of what makes a good villain. All villains have certain qualities to decide whether they are an effective or ineffective villain. To decide who the better villain is the criterion of what makes an effective villain must be assessed first. Effective villains are ruthless, cunning, motivated, logical, precise, a viable threat and have control over their actions. They should not compassionate, have a blind rage, be predictable, have a big pride and be clouded by emotions. Villains need to have composure and must go beyond a physical strength. They should use their powers usefully and creatively, be manipulative, conniving, deceptive and have some control over people. …show more content…
To compare Frieza to The Joker the strengths and weakness of Frieza must be known so it can then be compared to the strengths and weaknesses of The Joker. Finding the strengths and weaknesses of Frieza also shows how he fits into the criterion of an effective villain. Frieza kills people if they get too strong. This is a good technique as if there is no one that is strong enough to overcome him no one will challenge his authority. An example of this is when he kills off the entire Saiyan race, an elite warrior race, because they were growing stronger quickly. He killed the Saiyan race, the planet they live on and all of the people that serve him because they could not defeat a rogue Saiyan that fought back. Frieza created all this destruction with nothing but an energy ball that he created using one finger. He has many loyal followers and lies to them to ensure they stay loyal such as when he lied to a young Saiyan prince that his planet was hit by an asteroid so he would continue his loyalty with Frieza. Frieza is hungry for power, has no compassion, and has four forms to conserve energy and he grows is strength after each transformation. He has an extendable tail, is extremely powerful, agile, fast
Many stories feature a hero who behaves honorably and fights for good. These same stories often include a villain who behaves selfishly and stands at odds with the hero. In your opinion, who is the best villain from a movie or piece of literature? Think about what traits make him or her a good villain, and how he or she contrasts the hero.
The best villain I know would have to be Darth Vader from Star Wars. He kept on trying to kill Luke Skywalker and Obi-wan-kenobi. He tried so hard to fight for the droids they had and so he could get Princess Leia. He is also mysterious he will not show his face until the end and it makes me and other people think what his face looks like. He also kept it a secret that Darth Vader was Luke’s father “ I am your Father.”
In conclusion villains are known for being evil in a story or movie. The first villain chosen is the evil queen from Snow White. The evil queen/witch sets out to kill Snow because she wants to become the fearest of them all. The second villain is Gothel from the movie Tangled. Gothel kidnaps Rapunzel as a baby and locks her in a castle, away from the world. The third villain is Ursula from The Little Mermaid. Ursula turns the merpeople into little animals called polyps. Villains are
Journey to Villainy There are so many different kinds of villains. There is not just one kind of villain and they are not all bad villains in the beginning like Anakin Skywalker on his journey to become one of the most well known villains, Darth Vader. A villain can be anyone who might have made some wrong decisions in their life and end up going down the wrong path. Some Individuals are born being a villain with their family not making the right decisions and they become villains because it is the only thing they know and may be good at.
Russell Crowe once said, “I like villains because there’s something so attractive about a committed person-they have a plan, an ideology, no matter how twisted. They’re motivated.” The villain’s commitment to follow through with their evil plan is what shapes the story’s plot, which is why they play a very important role in literature. In short stories, villains that are highly motivated and grim creates the best plot that is short enough to keep the reader’s attention but long enough to be considered a well-developed story. The villains Montresor from Edgar Allen Poe’s “The Cask of Amontillado,” and Madame Loisel from Guy de Maupassant’s “The Necklace,” are both greatly villainous in their own ways, but General Zaroff from Richard Connell’s
The vilest supervillain would obviously shine as the most powerful, immediately sending the Night Angel to the top five, because no-one can compare to his heartlessness. The Night Angel, definitely the most evil villain, he has caused great wars, and rivalries that last to this day. Once causing a storm that rained for 10 days straight, ruining the land by flooding the crops and farmland. Then, in 2999, he predicted the end of the world, but very little in known of that, mostly because it was posted by Totally-didn’t-make-this-up-right-now.norg.
Some of his evil work was killing Jason Todd the second Robin. He kills Jason because Jason soon found out that Catherine Todd wasn't his biological mother so he ran away in request to find his real mother Sheila Haywood, but she was recently performed "illegal operations on teenage girls" in Gotham; after a botched procedure resulted in the death of a teen, she was blacklisted as a medical practitioner. Joker used that info to blackmail Shelia into giving him the medical supplies her agency has piled in a nearby warehouse. But she is denying it even thought she doesn't know that Joker already replaced it with laughing gas and will kill thousands of people. As a part of her cover up she hands her long lost son to Joker and Joker brutally beats Robin with a crowbar until he is laying unconscious in a puddle of blood. Then Joker restrains Robin and Shelia in the warehouse and lets of a time bomb killing them
The Joker, like many of the mentally unstable members of Batman's rogues gallery, has an obsession. Scarecrow's is fear, Riddler's is proving his intelligence, Two-Face's is fifty fifty chance. However, The Joker's obsession isn't about being a clown. The reason The Joker is insane is because he's obsessed with being insane.
If a villain feels hard done by either by, society or certain life circumstances. Not only does that give the villain to have an understandable reason for their evil behavior but they will have a fuel for their actions and that will allow the reader to feel a sense of sympathy towards their plight. In most villain cases they
What defines a villain? Is it a person who whose actions has negatively affected society? Acted immoral? Has done something that is scorned down upon by society? Or is it simply a person who has done wrong in general? Many argue that a villain is “Yes” to all these questions but I believe otherwise. I believe that a villain is not just someone who has done wrong, or acted immorally, but someone who has done those things without reason. The more we think about it, the more we see how unlikely these crimes apply to reality and how much they evade us from the truth of the villain world. The character Macbeth in the tragedy of Macbeth and Jae-Hee in The Girl Who See Smells are two outstanding examples of the misconception of who a villain really
They always have a motive for doing wrong, as well as being a worthy enemy to the hero. A great example of a villain is the Joker in The Dark Knight, the Joker had no reason to be a villain besides the fact that he loves to watch the world
Villains are just like us but they allowed their temptations to consume them. As people we have villainous thoughts all the time, though we chastise ourselves for them, they definitely appear. The idea of portraying a villain wouldn't be too hard because I only have to imagine myself letting one of my own flaws consume me. We could become villains at any moment, "When you look into an abyss, the abyss also looks into you," Friedrich Nietzsche said, and he means that when you think about these temptations enough, you yourself will fall into temptation. I almost let my weight problem consume me, but I was able to realign myself into a proper way of thinking. Trying to pull off the act as a hero is like lying to your audience, no ones truly a superhero, but everyone can relate to a
Whoever the criterion of an effective villain relates the most to will be the better villain. To see how each villain fits into the criterion the strengths and weaknesses of each villain must be found.
Villains play a large role in interfering with a hero's intentions. Some do this better than others. Anakin Skywalker, better known as Darth Vader, is the best villain of all time. He controls the Galactic Empire to gain power, his physical appearance, and his downfall. Anakin Skywalker is the leader of the Galactic Empire. He will do to gain control of the galaxy. One of his tasks is to stop the rebels, who are trying to defeat him. Darth Vader has several groups of people who will assist him of any commands, even if they disagree. With a couple "threats," this Galactic Empire is surely ran by the best villain who gets his way. Darth Vader's physical appearance also makes Vader the best villain. His appearance is one iconic like no other.
In a world where anyone can become a superhero, anyone can also become a villain. And while there has always been the occasional robbery, or fire scare, they would always be unorganized, the work of some half-assed criminal who nobody bothered to care about besides the local police force.
