In today's society there is the question ‘Should there be more gun laws?’. The advancements in military weaponry is nothing short of astounding. With these advancements though, come the ramifications of their inventions. More and more, the nation is seeing these weapons in actions. People are fearful and demand more laws, but that is not the answer to this dilemma. More gun laws would not resolve this problem for numerous reasons; more gun laws would lead to more violence, the United States alwardy have an excessive amount on gun laws, and the nation looks at the object not the person. The United States have to address these issues before a change will happen.
Guns and weaponry have always been a major part of the cultures of the world since the beginning of time. For the United States of America, gun use can be traced back to the colonial days, our revolutionary roots. They have helped the United States turn the table specifically in times of dire need such as the Revolutionary War. Not only have advances in weaponry influenced the U.S., they have also helped to shape events across the globe. In 1791, this was understood by the Founding Fathers while writing the Constitution, which can be seen in the Second Amendment: “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”[1]. With the advancement of guns specifically, there has been a rise in mass shootings, casualties, crime and controversy that has begun to split the United States. All a person has to do is turn on the television to a news channel, and at any given time, heartache, most often linked to guns, can be found. Some cry for a need for better gun regulation or sometimes complete abolishment for recreational use, while others cling to their weapons with claim of self-defense and economic profit. Violent crimes have been on the rise years; there has been an estimated 1.2 billion crimes of violence that occurred in the United States alone [2]. One thing is certain: gun trade and regulation boosts the economy. Last year, 301,
Guns in the U.S has been a problem for many years now. So much so that America is what comes to mind when people think about guns. America is the most known nation in the world when it comes to firearms, with citizens owning about an astonishing 270 million of the world’s 875 million firearms(Marshall). That is thirty percent on the world registered firearms. The reason why Americans own so may guns comes down to the second Amendment, which claims, “A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” (Rauch) This grants the citizens from America the right to own and buy firearms. Since this amendment is vague, it comes down to

It grew to be the largest division of the Dayton-Hudson Corporation and was subsequently renamed the Target Corporation in 2000. Americans love guns, we love our second amendment rights and we strongly oppose those who try and take them away. Guns provide significant help for individual protection, but we need to stop handing them out guns like there is a war. The second amendment was implemented when we were still worried about the British taking us over, that is why Americans were allowed to have a gun, in case we need to call up the militia, but those days are over. Horrendous policies and politicians looking out for themselves, taking donation from weapons companies has lead to America having an extremely high gun crime rate. American’s have an abundance of gun related issues due to inadequate restrictions, insufficient political support, and the media’s influence. A change needs to be made in the form of restrictions, and new policies to better our society.
A literal arms race for firepower has become a reality in the United States. People buy guns to keep themselves safe, which makes others uncomfortable, and motivates the next person to buy their own gun. Gun control would create a safer environment for everyone. With a population of 323 million, it’s estimated that there are 357 million guns in the United States.
The use of Gun Control in the United States is and will be a big problem since it will take away
With gun related crimes steadily increasing, the spotlight has been on a solution to cease firearm problems. Firearms have been around for hundreds of years, and they are included in self-defense, sport, show, and unfortunately crime. The danger of the situation immediately escalades when there is a firearm involved. A plan to fix these issues has been talked about and looked at throughout the recent years, but there are many different aspects you have to look at when trying to find a solution for this problem. However, not all gun related situations are at fault, for most people follow the law, using and collecting the guns for sporting, collecting, and self-defense purposes. The second amendment in the constitution gives citizens of the United states the right to bear arms. Areas of concern that can be focused on to prevent future danger in firearm situations are gun control laws, process undergone
Every day in America, we hear it on the news. Another person shot. Another murder. Another mass shooting. Gun violence has become the Black Plague of the 21st century. Just in 2017, the total number of gun violence incidents reached 61,593. Our current laws and restrictions do very little to curb these numbers, and restrict very little in the means of purchasing a gun. Our laws need clearer borders suited to modern times and modern weapons. Our 2A rights were written in 1787. We are now in 2018. These laws are antiquated, not written for a society with assault weapons. Adjusting laws poses a challenge because so many oppose changing our 2nd Amendment. A compromise needs to be reached if
Internationally the United States suffers from severe gun problem. As a nation the United States has the most gun violence. According to the reading Gun Control, “The United States is the leader in per-capita gun deaths among industrial nations. This uneviable distinction has resulted in various gun-control laws at the federal and state levels that seek to reduce crime and violence by restricting private gun ownership” (“Gun Control” 1). In other words, this reading expresses the American Issue of gun violence throughout the
Gun control is a topic that has created many discussions in the story to those who can carry them or not since the US is one of the countries where access to all individuals is allowed without the due restrictions. Because of this, every day is more devastating when we hear about a massacre. Unfortunately, America has become in a little time in the country that leads the list of countries where more violent success occurred due to what is happening to our society. America 's gun problem is completely unique. First place in gun violence worldwide. It occupies the sixth place in gun homicide. The US by far the highest number of privately-owned guns in the world despite being a minority. Guns grow in an incredible way that goes from domestic
The chart provided by the Conversation shows an increase of production of pistols and assault rifles, however, according to Pew Research center, an estimated amount of 37% percent of the American people owns a firearm in their household. What happens to the rest of the guns produced? There’s a surplus of firearm that aren’t put to use. The money invested in producing these weapons could be used for more important issues such as cleaning the oceans, developing a better educational system, create more jobs by offering jobs for a research project, or aid other countries. These unsold guns could also be sold to the black market where people without their gun license purchase their gun illegally. This is all simple because of
Secondly, many people and companies use gun sale as a means of livelihood, employing people that needs job and also creating opportunities for people. The National Riffle Association (NRA) always record a huge sale after any deadly shooting because people want to stay protected. Many people own gun shops and that is what they use in sustaining themselves and their family and putting a strict law would reduce sales, which eventually affects their business in a long run. Some people own shooting range used to train people to perfect their gun shooting skills. That is also generating revenue for the
First of all, I think the gun control situation is something that could be augured for days upon days. With that said, there are a few big reasons why the gun control issue is such a predicament. For one, hunting for game is a big issue. A lot of the time, hunting isn’t a big problem, but the rest of the time, it is. Sometimes animals are hunted, which can decrease animal population fast. In the article, there is a page that says along the lines of “rhinos have been getting killed by poachers that want the horns.” This is a big problem because the white rhino is now highly endangered, thanks to the high demand of the horns. In my opinion, gun control should be enforced. I think if you buy a gun to hunt, it should be for food purposes only.
The debate over gun control is often perceived to be to control reduce crime. The politicians use it as fodder for the emotional voter. Regardless of your view on gun control guns will be a fact of life in American. The US contains roughly 270 million of the world’s estimated 875 million privately owned guns (McInnis, 2007). All agree we must find away
