What They Do

Anesthesiologists do many important things in the work space. The most important job for an anesthesiologist is taking care of their patient, and making sure they are in as little pain as possible. Anesthesiologists help during surgery and assist the doctor by adjusting how much anesthetic is being used. Anesthesiologists also take the heart rate, body temperature, breathing pattern, and blood pressure of the person who is being operated on. Anesthesiologists also work outside of the operating room by removing pain, temporarily, from other patients that are not being operated on yet.

How to Become One

To become an anesthesiologist, you must have a bachelor’s degree, and many other advanced degrees. The person wanting the anesthesiologist job must have taken biology, English, chemistry, math, and physics. …show more content…

Some anesthesiologists are willing to be on call, which means they get called into work with a short notice, at any time of the day or night, but they will still get paid. Anesthesiologists’ mostly work in hospitals, but also work in physicians’ offices. Anesthesiologists are always on their feet, and wok in very clean,

organized stations. They also work in very illuminated rooms so they can visualize, and see what they’re working with and-or on. Anesthesiologists work in hospitals all across the country and world, but there are some located nearby. Location include: Inspira Medical Center (Underwood), Lourdes Hospital, etc.
