On Monday the 20th of January, Floyd's wife, Bessie wanted to go to Muncie. She wanted to go clothes shopping with the money she got from her Christmas. They usually didn't have time to go to Muncie because they raise their daughter's son. Their daughter was put in jail for attempted murder. She was going to locked away for a long time. Between driving him to baseball practice and taking him to his appointments, the couple didn't have much time for themselves. Bessie tried to talk Floyd into going to Muncie but he wasn't having it. He didn't understand why Bessie wanted to go to Muncie when she could just wear the clothes she already had in her dresser or in her closet.
