This team is built with defense and the running game at the forefront and with the tough defenses we will face we can't get frustrated if it doesn't bust out right away we must keep grinding and wear down the defense. In our one loss at Atlanta I feel we got away from our identity causing more pressure on the offensive line and Cam Newton to force things a little bit. We can't afford to do that in a playoffs because defenses will pounce on any weakness they see. The running game is going to get back to full strength when Jonathan Stewart assumes his starting role where he excelled during the regular season before the injury falling just short of 1000 yards. Add the emergence of returning back Cameron-Artis-Payne who has a little DeAngelo
However, it was all defense from there on out. Tony Gibson's dawgs forced seven tackles for losses, broke up six passes and recovered a fumble in the red
After having some miscues in a young secondary during the first game, the focus then turned to Tennessee in hopes of having a better performance from the unit.
There was no clear-cut number 1 in that offense, and to be honest they didn't need it. Both players were outstanding given their skillsets and I fully believe the Buccaneers are looking to duplicate that same type of responsibility. Luckily for us, Ingram looks to be suspended for the first few games so that's a little reassuring for us come week 1.
Last season, it was obvious the Buccaneers defense seriously lacked in several areas. The defensive line struggled to get a sufficient pass rush and in turn forced a struggling secondary to play on it's heels. However this off season, the Bucs made several moves that, in theory, should help both areas improve tremendously.
The Cowboys offensive line was perfect last season, and they kept the defense away from their star quarterback Tony Romo. The "Great Wall" was a big reason for the Cowboys' success, and if Tyron Smith can remain healthy this season, defensives won't stand a chance against the Cowboys' offensive line.
Even with Aaron Rodgers at quarterback, an NFL team can only withstand so many injuries. They’ve been without Jordy Nelson all season, Randall Cobb has been playing with a hurt shoulder all year long, Eddie Lacy hasn’t been in shape, Davante Adams hasn’t been 100 percent since week one, and their starting cornerbacks started the year at number three and four on the depth chart.
Le’veon Bell and David Johnson are outstanding running backs that have had incredible stats throughout their careers. The two NFL running backs have similar styles when coming out of the back field. Both are outstandingly agile, versatile, and observant. These qualities allow them to simply find holes in the defensive lines and sneak through the gaps in a way that seems to be effortless. They both have the ability to attain more yards than most opposing players, even after contact with other players. Having these amazing traits has allowed them to peak at the top of their game. As the numbers show, Le’veon Bell averages a total of 4.5 yards per carry and about 1,004 yards per season. As for David Johnson, he averages 4.4 yards per carry and
Author’s note: Shortly after submitting this piece, it was learned that starting nose tackle Jarron Jones tore his MCL and is out for the season. Obviously, that changes what was written in describing the defense in point #4. However, Notre Dame has experience behind him and a freshman in Jerry Tillery who enrolled in the spring and participated in spring practices for Notre Dame. Coach Brian Kelly had this to say about him during those early practices. As I noted in the defensive section, because Jones was hurt last year, players were forced into action and gained a ton of quality experience. Add a blue-chip talent like Tillery to that group and Notre Dame should recover from this very effectively.
Well Bucs fans, it seems as if that eerie feeling of the losing culture is circling around us again. Some fans will argue, did it ever really leave? Since the 2008 season, which is when this writer believes that whatever jinx and or curse, on this team came to be. See the Manning Monday Night massacre… fans you know exactly which game. The losing culture circles this team, like a vulture circles its prey.
In addition to the ground game finally working the Bills defense of old was able to get to multiple stops on a prolific offense of the Arizona Cardinals.
Isaiah Crowell and Terrance West combined for just 20 yards on ten carries. As disappointing as our rush attack was, our offensive line didn’t appear to have much push either. Not to mention, the difficulty to develop a rhythm when the opportunities are limited. In the first half, Cleveland elected call 15 pass plays to nine run
With exceptionally talented but controversial edge rusher Greg Hardy’s rubbish last season kicking him out of the picture – there isn’t a D-lineman on the Cowboys’ current roster that’s impacted a defense as much as Hardy, who draws double teams on the edge and when shifted inside. However, not having an elite edge rusher doesn’t render the chances of your defensive front to wreak havoc and pile up sacks.
”We’ve turned into this team that looks like gangbusters in the fourth quarter, but does not look like gangbusters in the first quarter. It’s a four-quarter game. We’ve got to start faster. That’s something as a coaching staff we’ve got to get figured out.” said Coach Koetter.
Topic: Is there good and bad in all of us in relation to the novel The Running Man?
In a world of chaos and hate, there is light created by those who want to make a difference. These people are the modern day heros.
