Mercy College’s DPT program is unique in its weekend format. I understand due to the time constraints, classes will more challenging, rigorous, and fast-paced. As a physical therapy aide at Spectrum Physical Therapy, I had the opportunity to ask a student from Mercy College about the weekend format. She briefly described how classes were scheduled in the weekend format and many factors I would need to take into consideration to succeed academically. Though her words of wisdom, I quickly realized that I would need to lessen my work hours more than I anticipated. This realistic time management will allow me to factor in unforeseen circumstances such as traffic, group study sessions and additional time in the labs. In my academic career, I have
As a current undergraduate student, I value the collaboration in my current education and love that the DPT program at La Crosse will give me a similar learning experience. The competitive nature of the DPT program gives students the ability to receive individualized feedback from educators, as well as allowing students the opportunity to
This program forced me to be on top of my work and to keep an organized schedule. Due to the fact that this course goes by so fast and work is thrown towards the students all at once, if not cautious it can be very easy to fall behind on work. There is no time to slack off on work and wait until the last minute, because the program gives the students no time. Every minute of the day is taken up by homework and actual class time. This has forced me to
Do you ever find yourself stressing for a certain class and working on homework instead of paying attention for the class you are in? A major solution to this problem that many students at Wellington- Napoleon High School face is to change to the hybrid schedule which would give us more instructional time in core classes, have a variety of classes each week, and finally, have more class options instead of unneeded or extra classes. Around the school you hear many people constantly complaining about the new seven hour schedule and various problems that they are faced with throughout the school day. I feel like there are many simple solutions to all the problems with our high school’s schedule that the staff should really consider.
There are 3 year programs that offer courses to get a Doctor of Physical Therapy, also known as DPT degree. The programs usually require a Bachelor's degree for admission, a graduate degree from accredited academic program in physical therapy, along with specific educational prerequisites, classes in anatomy, physiology, biology, chemistry, and physics.
I was working on the final project, looking for various biodegradable plastic containers prices that can serve as an alternative for Mercy College. I found a small company called Biobag located in California. they produce compostable bags made from a "resin derived from plants, vegetable oils, and compostable polymers." Not petroleum-based plastic bag. they are willing to send us samples, but I don't know what address to use. Below is the company link for CAMPUS SUSTAINABILITY PROGRAM SAMPLE REQUEST. Would you provide them a specific address so that the samples be sent directly to our campus?
I hereby wish to articulate my impetus to apply for the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program at your institution. As an institution of higher learning, you have been in the frontline of providing quality education since 1962. Your institution has gained practical experience in solving real-life challenges facing today’s society. Your institution strives in providing an individual focus to the academic and personal development of each student. I believe your institution’s mission is in line with my aspiration as a learner and a professional. By recognizing and embracing the varying capabilities of the students, your institution encourages the students to be passionate towards their learning. This approach is especially critical since it not only increases one’s academic excellence but also cultivates a lifetime culture of personal and intellectual growth.
It's been some time since we've spoken, and I hope all is well for you. I was going to email you and follow-up on the last email you sent, but it turns out that my Oakton account has been deactivated for quite some time.
In the 2009 regular NFL season, New England Patriots wide receiver, Wes Walker, was having one of his finest seasons. In his last game of the regular season, Walker went down after catching a pass from Tom Brady and attempting to juke the defender in front of him. Wes planted his leg on the turf and it looked as though his foot got caught underneath him with his knee bent, nearly touching the field. Walker had torn his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) on that play. The wide receiver suffered a season ending injury while he was leading the league with 123 catches (Marx 17). Although some factors put more people at risk of tearing their ACL, this can really happen to anyone. Even though the tear can affect the person physically and mentally,
This semester was challenging, but rewarding. To meet the weekly course objectives, I had a planner that I would use and review to ensure that I met all of the deadlines. I read the chapters and readings during my days off from work and clinicals. Once the study guide was provided, I re-read and focused my studies on the topics provided. To make time for this, I used my lunch hour during clinicals to review unfamiliar topics and to enter about 4 typhon logs. On my first day off from clinicals, I would spend that day entering the rest of the typhon logs for that week. On the second day off from clinicals, I would either work on a writing assignment or I would read, depending on what needed to be done first. Because of the demands of the course,
This method of learning appeals to students as young as the middle school level, all the way to students who are working to get their Master’s degree. It is especially great for those who are unable to leave their home during the day or at night, or who have to work a full time job with swing shifts.
One normal method for assigning time for professional activities is to hire substitutes for a day or to "float" from room to room. However, these these procedures are frequently a mixed blessing. They make another set of dilemmas: Adequate research requires extensive planning. Instructors additionally stress over the stability and nature of lessons when they are out of the classroom.
When a student has a few hours of homework a night in each of their higher level classes, on top of extracurricular activities, they tend to derive from the recommended nine and a half hours of sleep a night and receive only five to six hours. With this lack of proper rest, students cannot perform to their absolute potential and their grades may suffer in the process. Students also get pushed to take higher level classes, to look good on their high school transcript even if they are not academically ready for the increase in workload and independence. The immense amounts of “pressure on students to get better grades for the sheer sake of college, seems to be a counter-intuitive method to enable children to work and study in areas that they are both passionate in and capable of doing well” (Stef Daniel 2). AP classes have a lot of benefits to students as they do not only look good for college, but they also offer the opportunity to obtain college credit for taking them. These aspects lead students to desire to take them even if they are not academically ready for it. The benefits that these classes offer “don’t mean all students should load up on as many rigorous Advanced Placement courses as their schedules can fit…[AP classes are] good, but [they are] not necessarily the best for every student”
As many districts have found, it is not feasible to add more subjects to the already demanding 6 or 7 period days. The problem in doing so is that there was little time for electives. At the same time, they began to find that adding classes only took away time from other parts of the curriculum already established. While some districts fumbled with the idea of adding classes and minimizing losses in other areas, a large number of schools, more specifically 25-40 percent of U.S high schools adopted block scheduling (American Federation of Teachers, 1999). It is apparent the block scheduling craze is thought to be a fix all solution to the problem, at least for those districts and individuals looking for anything to help increase the status quo.
Flexible Hours: Morning and evening classes are available to accommodate schedules and provide students with the flexibility
Due to the fact that this course goes by so fast and work is thrown towards the students all at once, if not cautious it can be very easy to fall behind on work. This program forces students to be very on top of their work and how to keep an organized schedule. There is no time to slack off on work and wait until last minute because the program gives the students no time every minute if the day is taken up by homework and actual class time. After this program I hope to keep the work ethnics that I have learned here in EOF. To have my work done early and make sure everything is done early so that there is less stress on me throughout the school year.
