It was a simple sign consisting of five words that managed to separate a die-hard group of Rugby League fans from the team that had been a major part of their lives. In the National Rugby League competition, the South Sydney Rabbitohs were playing their most important match in decades back on September 6th 2013 – against their fierce rivals, the Sydney Roosters – in a bid to secure their first minor premiership since 1989. Rabbitohs and Roosters fans have been at each other’s throats since 1908, which is why a small group of passionate fans erected a sign that read Scum: Forever In Our Shadow as the Roosters were running out to play. Those fans were the leaders of the Rabbitohs infamous supporter group called ‘The Burrow’, and consequently had their …show more content…
He is also vying to bring back Middleton and his friends, and finally put the 2013 sign fiasco to bed. “Even if they stand to the side during the game, I would like them to come back,” explained Kemp. “We were close before they got banned, I think it would be a real shame if they don’t come back. It will be important for them too, to further build on that culture and also increase the numbers up.” Middleton would never rule out making a return to The Burrow, but was definitely reluctant. “Look, I don’t know, it’s hard,” said Middleton. “[I miss it], I really do, but as I said we will be entering into a new group of people, who do things differently. I still go to the games, which is the main thing for me – I just don’t sit in The Burrow anymore.” When asked if he regretted making the sign, the silence from the long pause was almost deafening. “I regret how everything panned out, I regret getting banned and I do not want to go through that again. At the time, I was going to every single game around the country, the thought of being banned for a year was
The Cutters are coming off a disappointing 2015 season; therefore Demetriou wasted no time making himself known, and is keen to turn them into a premiership side.
Griffey replied, “I am so sorry for your disappointment. And believe me when I tell you that I’m not going to shrug off your question and tell you to persevere. Instead I will tell you something else-- I’m going to tell you that you need to give up your dream of playing baseball. I only say this because i can see that baseball is no longer bringing you pleasure or satisfaction. Our time here on Earth is too short and deserves to be enjoyed to the fullest. I am now giving you permission to go find something else to do with your life that brings you joy. Go find something new that you love to do and that brings you peace and serenity. Spend time with family and friends, find new hobbies, go on vacation, forgive your enemies, but stop playing baseball because it seems to be slowly killing you from the inside out.”

He apologized directly to his family about the recent scandal that was brought to the light. "I brought hurt and a reproach to my family, close friends and the fans of our show with my actions that happened when I was 14-15 years old, and now I have re-broken their trust," he continued. "The last few years, while publicly stating I was fighting against immorality in our country, I was hiding my own personal failings. As I am learning the hard way, we have the freedom to choose to our actions, but we do not get to choose our consequences. I deeply regret all hurt I have caused so many by being such a bad

“You think this is about me?” She let out a low, bitter laugh. “This goes beyond just me. But for the record? I was given no time to respond or present any information.”

Since the very first introduction of the NRL fans have hated and disliked the piece of match technology. Fans have believed from the start the bunker which cost $1.2 million dollars, that it has been a waste of time, money and effort. The expensive system has not gotten rid of howlers and human error still exists after all. Instead, it has helped to give us a better understanding of why and how a howler
Some Howlrunners fans exposed themselves as choobies of the highest order. First, it was rubbishing Anselm billboards before the game, then it was threatening further shenanigans ahead of the whistle, and now they have gone ahead and gotten outright xenophobic. Near minute 45, Anselm Midfielder Amadeo Tonetto turned to the crowd near the touchline before the ref abruptly ceased play. As the holocasters struggled to understand what exactly the commotion was, a side referee picked up a stuffed Nautolan head, which seemingly had been ripped off a child's toy and thrown onto the pitch. A little later, head ref Rinn could be seen speaking with the two managers, allegedly telling them that he was going to call the match if another xenophobic episode
