Nailer Lopez is an adolescent ship breaker, living in Bright Sands beach, a survival-of-the-fittest shipbreaking yard that is overridden with poverty and deception. Despite his dire situation, Paolo Bacigalupi paints the picture of a loyal, determined and courageous young man. To me, he was one of the most interesting characters in the novel Shipbreaker and was very relatable. This is why I found him interesting. Nailer is interesting because he is extremely loyal.
Many people feel like they can't focus on daily tasks as much as they would like to, or have trouble with memory and recall compared to when they are younger or just don't feel like their brain works as well as it used to anymore. Many of those same people rely on supplements with inferior products or energy drinks and caffeine to keep themselves alert and going at work. However, those aids have several detrimental effects on your overall health and only last a short time. If you are interested in an alternative made from all-natural ingredients and have minimal to no side effects, Genbrain may be just right for you.
“The Open Boat” is short tale of endurance, suffering, and redemption. The story focuses on four interesting sailors on a journey towards survival. They try their best to overcome the adversities of the water and raging storm. Crane focuses on the constant struggle of man’s immobility to control his own life. “The Open Boat” is a nonfictional fiction some call it. It typically is argued as only fiction, but many lean toward its nonfictional quality. Crane wrote the story based off his real life experience of a shipwreck he tragically endured. The Commodore, the name of the ship, was the victim of the waves and Crane just so happened to be one of its friends. He wrote 2 articles based on this tragedy, but “The Open Boat” became the best
Nathaniel Hawthorne, an American novelist, whose works show a deep consciousness of the ethical problems of sin and punishment. In “Rappaccini’s Daughter," Hawthorne uses science and symbols to narrate the story of a student called Giovanni Guasconti, who falls in love with Beatrice. Beatrice is a beautiful and mysterious young woman whose touch and breath becomes poisonous by the experiments of her father, the scientist Giacomo Rappaccini, and is unable to be a normal young woman. Through a series of experiments, Hawthorne uses science to drive the entire story and show the boundaries of ethics and morals in science by the use of literary devices of mood and symbolism to create an association with the tale of Adam and Eve in the Garden of
The film begins in the depths of the schooner La Amistad, a slave-ship carrying captured West Africans into slavery. The film's protagonist, Sengbe Pieh, most known by his Spanish name, "Cinqué," painstakingly picks a nail out of the ship's structure and uses it to pick the lock on his shackles. Freeing a number of his companions, Cinqué initiates a rebellion on board the storm-tossed vessel. In the ensuing fighting, several Africans and most of the ship's Spanish crew are killed, but Cinqué saves two of the ship's officers, Ruiz and Montez, whom he believes can sail them back to Africa.
“Compare what the two stories (from Joyful Strains) suggest about gaining a sense of belonging and/or establishing an identity.”

The song “Ross Capicchioni” by Joyner Lucas can be a prime example of a literary piece because of its plot, multi perspectives, and tone throughout the song. Manipulating words so that it could fit into different rhyming schemes to set a specific tone has added a dramatic and poetic effect on literary writings. A good plot is one of, if not the most critical part of a literary piece because it keeps a reader, viewer or listener interested in the piece. Lastly, the multi perspectives of the piece makes it literary because of the ability to imagine and “bring to life” both points of views are rare in writings, songs and poems.
