The author of this argument claims that the government of Grandview city should stop funding the Grandview Symphony due to the recently increased fund and double attendance. However, several questions need answering to evaluate the claim. Firstly, the article claims that the Grandview Symphony has received double private contributions, therefore they won’t need any funds from the government anymore; however, what percentage are the private contributions take in part of the Grandview Symphony’s income? If the percentage is far lower than the government’s funding, private contributions can’t cover their costs. Furthermore, a number of private contributions may be more or less due to the economy, it is impossible to predict the economy in the
The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra’s performance of Mahler’s Symphony No. 5 at the Berlin Philharmonie, gifted the audience with a masterful rendition of the movements within the symphony. The Symphony divides into three separate parts, in which the movements complement each other's characteristics. The symphony orchestra features a myriad of orchestral instruments featuring the Brass, Woodwinds, Strings, and Percussion families. Furthermore, the various movements throughout the performance utilize various musical concepts that bring the music to life. Albeit, the complexity of Mahler’s symphony, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra performed superbly throughout the performance.

In Emily St. John Mandel’s novel, Station Eleven, a terrifyingly powerful virus called the “Georgia Flu” sweeps across the world taking out almost every victim it touches. A team of musicians, actors, and backstage members make their way across a pandemic stricken land while hunting, performing, and surviving. They call themselves the “Traveling Symphony”. They’ve been traveling since nearly the beginning of the pandemic, finding and losing members as they go. Throughout the novel, there are several plot lines which run in different directions throughout different time periods, but one consistent theme that ties each twisting plot together throughout the entire novel is that “survival is insufficient”, a quote adopted from Star Trek.
The argument given in the letter presumes that the Parson City residents attach more importance on getting good education than Blue City residents. Comparing two cities, the author argues that in contrast to Blue City the Parson City expend more money on its schools. The author argument is based on unsubstantiated presumptions, which are not supported by relevant evidences, namely the fact that both cities have equal number of students and the main factor of the success of educational process is perfect financing.
Cutting music and art programs creates a large gap between opportunities for wealther children and lower class children. Children whose parents do not have the financial means to afford private art and music lessions have a greater disadvantage because they do not have the opportunities and resources to cultivate their talents. They could be the next Picasso, but because they did not have the means to express their genius and cultivate their talent, it never gets discovered. Only a very few lucky children will be able to prosper in their talents. Schools should provide another means of art and music classes. For instance, they could have clubs where children
Gentle warmth bathed the audience. It was an unusually cool July afternoon. The smell of patriotism, if there were such a fragrance, was dancing throughout the skies, skipping across the clouds, lingering above the treetops. The date is July 1st, and we are about to be entertained. Welcome to the ISO Star Spangled Symphony.

The La Jolla Symphony concert was held on a warm Saturday night, May 5th, and it was definitely a memorable experience, since it was the first symphony concert that I have ever attended in my life. The whole atmosphere was very engaging and the music itself was very different in an insightful way. Over the course of the concert, five pieces were played as Sameer Patel conducted. Each piece was incredibly unique in their own way and did associate themselves together and also to many of the concepts we have learned in class. The concert overall was astonishing that I enjoyed every second of it and will now attend as many more symphonies as I can.
Some sports teams have gotten up to 50,000 dollars each year for each sport. Our arts programs get 5,000 all together. That includes band, choir, art, and all of our other arts programs. How come the arts programs don’t get as much funding from our schools as sports do? Fine arts programs are very good for students to be involved in, yet schools don’t give them enough money to actually sustain themselves. Studies show that kids involved in fine arts programs are happier, and do better in school, so why are fine arts programs being cut? For our final solution, we think that the arts programs should be given some of the funding from the sports teams. Because the sports teams have so much money from the schools and their boosters, they would have money to spare, which the arts programs rightfully deserve. If the sports teams were to give some of their funding to the arts programs, then it would be even. The sports teams would still have plenty of money for their needs, and the arts would get more to get what they need to be
He writes of the strictly economic viewpoint people believe conservatives to take on and how the basis of conservatism has much more to do with wanting to protect the things they love and not seeing the reason for radical change until being shown the details of the aftermath of the change will bring. He uses this to address why we as a society should be concerned with preserving classical music today and why the economic viewpoint of a classical symphony orchestra may not be the right perspective to take. We should preserve these classical types of art, not because of the short term economic benefits or losses, but because of the long-term benefits to society. We should appreciate the type of education it can be for those who learn it, recognizing the authenticity of it versus fake emotion. It teaches to express passion and emotion in a way that no other art form does, which is why it should be preserved as a live experience for future generations to experience and learn, no an exhibit in a museum for them to walk past and catch a glimpse of on a class field trip.
Antonín Leopold Dvořák was a Czech Romantic composer who lived from 1841 until 1904. He, after Bedřich Smetana, was the second Czech composer to gain worldwide recognition. Like Smetana, he took a nationalist approach to composition by employing aspects of his native folk music.
I have never been personally a fan of the romantic orchestra music but going to listen to a concert live is breathtaking. I attended the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra, Masterpieces concert with music director Fouad Fakhouri performing Igor Stravinsky’s Symphony of Psalms and Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No.1 in D major. There was a full stage of musicians and a complete choir to back it up.
“He (Beethoven) was a pivotal figure in the transition from 18th century musical classicism to 19th century romanticism, and his influence on subsequent generations of composers was profound” Kerman and Tyson. Beethoven’s sixth symphony (also known as the pastoral symphony) has qualities of both the classical and romantic periods and illustrates Beethoven’s revolutionary ideas as well as highlights his classical influences. The programmatic nature of the piece is the dominant romantic feature although the use of brass and percussion as well as the dramatic dynamic changes are also characteristics from this era. However there are many classical influences in Beethoven’s work such as the balanced phrasing, the
