Would I let my son play FootBall?
Football is a very popular sport her in the U.S. The superbowls gets on average over one hundred million viewers on average. According to ESPN there is around 1.23 million youth kids from 6-16 playing American Football. It only takes 95 g's of force to cause a concussion to the human brain. And the average football hit is 105g force which is just mind boggling how parents will let their kids risk their whole adult hood over a simple game that in the long run won't give them nothing.
Football is a contact sport nothing more nothing less. Even with my own personal experience going to the football game while being in High School i remember a player getting injured every game at least. A sport is not supposed

If that is the case than the sport should not be played and just adds another reason as to why I will not let my son or even daughter play American football. I will not stand by and let my kid hit by hit get a concussion that will impale him for the rest of his life. Even the football commissioner has been recorded saying that they are ever trying to increase the safety of the game. Why would the football commissioner be saying something like this if the sport is safe already. This lead many people to suspect that the sports equipment is not well equipped to handle the hit because it does not keep you're son or daughter safe. The sport is not safe which is why they need to modify the sport to make is safer because teens are dying just on playing a harmless sport.Which implies that the game is not safe to begin with and so our kids should not be playing the sport. If the commissioner of the football association is telling reporters that they are working on making the sport more safer. Will not be putting my kid through a sportin which is not safe and does not meet the standards. In addition to that many people argue how by playing the sport many valuable and life lessons are learned. Playing
I think that kids shouldn't play football because it is too dangerous. People get concussions every day when they play football. After repeatedly bashing their skulls football players get concussions, caused by the spongy tissue in the brain hitting the hard skull. It is very painful to get a concussion, and leaves permanent damage to the brain. As well as being excruciatingly painful, and possibly never being the same, with many issues. "In milder cases, athletes can be left with lifelong pain, memory lapses, aggression, depression, personality changes, and many other issues."(Shotz[11]). This sport just keeps getting more and more dangerous, manifesting on itself, becoming more and more brutal as players become more competitive. There are
If banning football to keep it safe is a smart idea, then hockey, lacrosse, and other physical contact sports would have to be banned, too. Football isn’t the only sport where the players are badly injured or get concussions. Banning football for safety reasons would not work, it doesn’t ensure the safety of the children. Children are going to want to play football, they watch it on TV, football has a huge impact on kids’ lives. You cannot take away something that a kid wants to do because of a few people. The safety of the children should come first, which is why the schools or whoever sponsor the teams need to get enough money together to buy better and safer equipment. Bumping up the age children can start playing football is also a smart idea. By bumping up the age a few years, the children have stronger skulls than what they would have if they were younger. Children’s skulls are fragile, they’re still hardening. Giving the skull a few more years to harden lessens the amount of concussions tremendously. Both bumping the age range and buying new equipment are a great way to ensure a child’s safety when playing
American football has been around since the early 1900's. The players tackle each other until one is on the ground. Football has always been a full-contact sport. Throughout the years injuries have stayed part of the game and the NFL has taken their time to increase player safety. The NFL should increase player safety because of the injuries have occurred. Some of the injuries may be lifetime injuries. Serious brain injuries have been linked to football as, well as heart issues and other permanent heath problems.
Did you know 66% of boys between the ages of 5-18 years old play an organized sport? Over 550,000 boys participate in basketball for a school sponsored team in the U.S, ranked in the top 5 most played sports in the U.S. by youth is baseball/ teeball and last but not least football is played among young boys with more than 1 million interscholastic participants. If I were asked if I were to allow my son to play football I will say yes, because it promotes teamwork, keeps children busy (out of trouble) and it is a safe sport.
Football is a sport loved by so many people, that a whole corporation was made for fans to enjoy it, the NFL. But do the fans know the risk that football players put themselves in when they step onto that field? It doesn't matter if you have experience there is always that risk for a concussion. Even kids playing youth football or teens playing high school football are at a high risk for concussions. Obviously, whatever guidelines out there that are meant to protect football players from concussions aren't working so something needs to be changed. Personally, if I was a parent I would never let my child play football unless the helmet, tackle guidelines, and penalties for late hits were improved. However I do understand why parents allow their children to play football, it is a sport like I said, loved by many and just fun to watch.
Have you ever thought about the safety of your friends or family that play such a rough sport such as football, and are scared that they can have an injury that can permanently hurt them forever such as a concussion that can ultimately lead to a brain disease. Well that is the reason why not as many parents aren't letting their kids play football. At little league and such a small age they aren't happening as often but are still an issue but at a bigger stage such as the NFL they are a huge issue and occur more than they should. Ever since the NFL and Riddell have been making stronger and supposedly safer helmets concussions have been happening more than ever. Also researchers from (“Frontline”) say about
Many parents fear their children playing football because of possible concussions or later being diagnosed with CTE (Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy). Although there could be slight changes in football young children should absolutely be allowed to play because football is a part of the American culture and could benefit the young players in many ways. Football can help a child become physically fit as well as teaching the player(s) life time skills that can help them in their bright futures such as leadership, sportsmanship, ambition etc.
Football has been around for many decades. There have been all sorts of injuries throughout its existence. As the game evolved with plastic helmets and bigger pads, so did the number of big hits that players were landing. This was exciting for the spectators, watching players give it their all on the field. Players quickly found out that hitting with your head is much more effective than hitting with your shoulder. This new technique brought much more than excitement to the game. It came with concussions. Concussions were never a serious problem until the game evolved. Ever since these injuries came into the game, there has been a push to make the game much safer.
People often disregard the many physical dangers and injuries of high school football by saying many things the average human does in their everyday lives posses the same dangers such as driving. While this is indeed true, the claim is completely irrelevant and irresponsible
Every parent’s greatest fear is that his child would experience a life-changing injury or even death. What if parents realized that allowing a child to play football might be the cause of such a life-altering injury? Children should not play football because it is known to cause concussions, concussions are damaging, and the equipment isn’t good enough.
Imagine, your son comes home from a football practice and tells you his head hurts. You don’t think anything of it so you just give him some headache medicine and tell him to go to bed. He wakes up the next morning in excruciating pain and can barely even function with how bad it is. Your son has received a concussion from a teammate during practice because they haven’t learned the proper tackling techniques. All could have been avoided if you didn’t allow him to play until he and his body were ready for it. Young kids should not be playing contact football at too young of an age because, they are not fully developed, the kids won’t be held back in any way and the safety measures taken in youth football are just simply
People have been playing a game that most call “tackle football” for decades, but they have also been asking one question: “Should children be allowed to play?” Young children should not be allowed to play tackle football in order to keep them safe and guarantee a healthy future. Football is a very dangerous sport and young people can not only get their brain permanently damaged, but they can also get CTE, or stunt their brain development.
First of all, football causes injuries that can lead to permanent brain damage which has the potential of affecting the person's entire life. Kim Gorgen, a neuropsychologist which gave a speech at TED Talk stating that, “High schooler playing contact sports are 3x more likely to have a serious concussion, life threatening injuries compared to college students and adults”. This means that children have a higher likelihood of receiving injuries while playing contact sports such as football. Due to the heavily physicality of the sport of
Football has been a part of some students lives making it special for them. Even though many love playing and watching the sport football is too dangerous to be played in high school, it leads to brain injuries, bodily injuries, and death. Nowadays, brain injuries to some might sound as the worst injuries to have. It’s even worse because football is starting with younger kids.
Dating back to 1892, a new threshold in American sports history was achieved. The Allegheny Athletic Association had defeated the Pittsburgh Athletic Club. More importantly, William Heffelfinger was paid $500 to participate on the AAA team, thus birthing Professional Football. As the years passed, American Football has seen an exponential progression, including the introduction of children’s football associations. While there is a numerous group of parents who have no problem with their child being involved in football, recent revelations would begin to grow concern in some. It is because of this we must ask, should parents disallow their children from participating in football, or should they focus on the more positive benefits that the organized sport could have?
