Sweet Sixteens, Quinces. However you call it, or whatever your name for it is, we can all agree that turning 15 or 16 is a very important step in the life of any girl, in any culture, background, religion or place. So in this newspaper issue I took upon myself to interview some of my peers at Highland, so I can share how they will celebrate or celebrated their Quinces or Sweet Sixteens, as well as the importance of those events to them.

Have you ever wanted to change the world? Well that is what a teen activist does. Teen activism is someone who believes in something and then fights for it.. It takes a lot of courage to become a teen activist because you could risk your life standing up for what is right. Teen activist stand up for problems by fighting for different causes, teen activist also are passionate for the things they are fighting for, and teen activist face obstacles and challenges.
I want to staff with TeenPact because I believe Christ has called me to. The ministry of Teenpact has charged my life, and helped disciple me in a strong biblical worldview, I have found The Rock on which I stand and Teenpact has been a dramatic part of that! A quinceanera is a religious celebration that is celebrated when a young girl turns fifteen. This is a time where the birthday girl is going from girlhood to womanhood. Quinceaneras are celebrated in Spanish-speaking countries and the United States. The elaborate celebration begins with a mass, and is followed by a party or reception. A mass is a memorial of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. People who are invited to the mass is the girl, her family and her godparents. At the party portion of a quinceanera the girl's friends and family are invited. As the girl walks in she is accompanied by her “court” also known as her maids of honor. The party has lots of delicious food, and entertainment such as music and dancing.
The Quinceañera celebration also known as Fiesta de Quince is the most important event every girl wants once they turn fifteen. Quinceañera celebrations are formal and very expensive due to buying the decorations and most important the girls dress.

However, even though the experience was horrendous, it taught me to see the best in everything.
For my sweet 16th party, me and my guy best friend made an entrance walk-in and dance. The song we dance to was You're My Rock by Beyoncé. Before my party, me and my best friend pick a song that describe our friendship but we agreed that the song wouldn't be right for a formal entrance song. Instead, we chose You're my Rock. We went days practicing how we would enter the party and dance to the song.
These young ladies moved to America to benefit their selves and make a change to today's society by getting their degrees and helping others. They lived happily for a long time, even got married and stayed connected as sisters through the phone. Then one day America decided it wanted to change the rights that they were allowed. Old America allowed them to live happily and enjoy life as they knew it, but when things changed their attitudes changed about America. They were ready to go back to India as soon as they retired. It seems like America made itself worse and worse throughout the years, and the people running do not seem to be helping. These ladies should not have to change when they are already legal and have done their contributions
I am very disappointed in you in how unfair you treated my sweet little girl on her 11th birthday. You told her that was her ugly red sweater and forced her to put that nasty thing on for her birthday. What kind of gift is that Mrs.Price on her 11th birthday you give her that nasty sweater that isn't even hers.
