Tabernacle Treasures Essay Everyone has a set of values and something that represents their values. One could call that representation of values their own personal tabernacle. My personal tabernacle is the woods. Ever since I was a child I would spend large quantities of time in the woods, eventually I came to view the woods as my personal tabernacle.
The woods are not just one location and can come in many forms, but I have spent the largest amount of time in the woods behind my old house and at my lakehouse. At my old house the woods were spread out for several miles and were centered around a corn field. Oak trees, pine trees and birch trees filled the woods. A large creek ran through the valley of the creek. In the winter, I would cross
Forests, lakes, and rivers are the places I love to spend my time. No matter what I am doing outside I will always be happy. My favorite part about being an outdoorsman has to be dressing for the weather. Living in Minnesota I learned the weather can change overnight, and I am always prepared. My eagerness to be outside was influenced by my family at a young age. I enjoy hiking through beautiful forests and cross country skiing over frozen snow covered lakes. I spend so much time in nature I learn to appreciate things on a whole different level. Nature has so much beauty and mystery it cannot be
The ancient tabernacle of Moses was a sacred and holy place for the people of Israel. It served as a tool for the people to remember God and to look forward to their promised Messiah. The tabernacle was so integral to the lives of the Israelites that they even built the tabernacle in the center of their encampments during their journeys (Yom Kippur). The tabernacle also served many purposes for the Israelites in their rituals, ceremonies, and beliefs of their religion. Many practices that the ancient Israelites performed in and for the tabernacle anciently, may seem peculiar to the modern thought process or many beliefs today. The main focus of the tabernacle was the day of Yom Kippur, or Day of Atonement. On this day, the Israelites would gather and watch as a high priest performed the rituals in the tabernacle that would rid the sins of the people of Israel. This day and ceremony was a very important aspect to Israelites’ beliefs and the tabernacle was the main tool for their ceremonies. The tabernacle and the day of Yom Kippur served many purposes in helping the Israelites to remember their God, learn from symbols, and to help them strive to obey their God’s commandments.

The words tabernacle and temple can be confusing; let me in a simple way explain the difference. Firstly the tabernacle is the English translation of the Hebrew word מִשְׁכָּן “mishkan”, which simply means residence or dwelling place. According to the Hebrew Bible this was a portable dwelling place for the presence of God, from the time of the Exodus to the conquering of the Promise Land (Canaan).
Church of the Holy Sepulchre is also known as the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre and the Church of the Resurrection (Orthodox Christians). Originally identified as being outside the settlement of Calvary, it is located in the Old City of Jerusalem, Israel and is considered one of the holiest sites in the world, as well as being a central destination for Christian pilgrims. The Church of the Holy Sepulchre was originally built by the Roman Emperor Constantine (272-337) in 330 CE upon the site of a Roman temple. It has since been controlled by Arab rulers, reclaimed by Christian crusaders, repeatedly ruined by fires and conquests, and long been subject to regional religious and political tensions. The Holy Sepulchre is a central Church in
The Dunham Bible Museum possesses many unique and rare artifacts that are not only important to our nation’s history but also vital to the history of Christianity. One artifact that touched my heart the most and is the most exclusive item in the museum was the Francis Bailey New Testament, which is the only known complete copy of the earliest English Testament printed in the United States of America. Although this artifact may hold a huge amount of significance to historians, Americans, and most importantly Christians, many people are unaware of the facts and stories behind the book that I will explain through this paper such as the artifact as a physical object, its historical context, and why it should be kept in a museum.

Evangelical Christians from over 80 countries are set to fly to Jerusalem to join the celebration of the Feast of Tabernacles of the Jewish festival Sukkot and also to show their support for the modern state of Israel.
The Feast of Tabernacles was the third feast the Jews celebrated and it also was one of the pilgrimages they made. The other two feast celebrated are they Passover and the Pentecost. During these times the people were required to travel to the Temple. Each of the feasts that went on was celebrated annually. The Feast of Tabernacles began when the harvest was finished which would be five days after the Day of Atonement. The Feast of Tabernacles can also be known as the Feast of Booths. The Feast of Tabernacles was sometimes called the Feast of Ingathering because of it marking the end of the harvest, which made it a time of rejoicing. The Feast of Tables came from the Hebrew word Sukkot.

The New Testament is a collection of books which contains the writings concerning the significant events in the life of Jesus of Nazareth. These books appeared after the physical death of Jesus Christ. In this regard, Jesus had left no records concerning him, and all that is written about him depends wholly on what other people have written about him. The first four books of the New Testament are part of the several biographies of Jesus which were written by the end of the first century of the era of Christianity. Then before any of these biographies have been drafted, there were Christian communities which were being instructed through epistles on how to live like Jesus and how to solve their problem like Christians. A good number of these letters were written by a man called Paul. After Paul death, some other new leaders of the Christian movement continued to write letters to the churches to encourage and strengthen them. As Christians grew in number persecution arose, and some letters have been drafted to support them and also to counter the false doctrines. These letters are part of the New Testament. The twenty-seven books of the New Testament were selected from the list of writings in that period (Bruce, 1988)
