CHUCKTOWN, Va. – An undercover Tamoon police officer shot an armed Chicago man in the parking lot of the Credit Union 1 midday yesterday, police said. Officer Elliot Mess, 29, approached David C. Jefferson, 37, while Jefferson was walking towards the bank, holding a sawed-off shotgun covered by a long box. As Mess began to confront Jefferson, Jefferson dropped the box covering and started loading the shotgun with shells, at which point Mess shot Jefferson twice with his service pistol. “I’m thinking maybe this is like a publicity stunt or a robbery gone bad, you know? I don’t actually think I’m seeing with I’m seeing,” said eyewitness Jeff Naggler, 24, a supervisor at Chucktown’s water treatment plant, who was on his lunch break at the …show more content…
POP. POP.”
The third bullet’s location is unreported by police.
What is undisputed is that the shooting occurred at approximately 11:45 a.m. at the Credit Union 1 at 1416 Palm Grove Dr., a bustling intersection with strip malls, businesses, and a nursing home surrounding it, that also leads into a residential neighborhood. According to police, Mess handcuffed Jefferson after he shot him and then contacted Chucktown Police, who arrived at the scene, followed shortly after by paramedics.
Police have not reported why Jefferson was in Chucktown or why he was at the Credit Union 1, since Jefferson gave police the address of Wrigley Field, a Chicago baseball stadium, as his home address. Police declined to comment on this matter. Why Mess was at the Union Credit One yesterday was not reported by police, but police did say he was on duty working undercover, even though Mess is an officer in a different township. This is not the first time Mess has been involved in a public shooting as a police officer. According to the Tamoon Police Department, Mess was suspended for seven days 15 months ago without pay for "inappropriate discharge of his firearm while on
There has been two shooting of deadly force as I know of in our local department. I live in the city of Humboldt tn.There has been two incident after 2008. Alvin Dewey was happy that they caught them since he’s been trying to catch these guys for a month. Later, the KBI were assigned to their suspects and interrogate them in separate rooms. Dewey was interrogating Smith and asking him all this questions about what happen. Smith tells him how it started. Perry Smith says that “The door was unlock. A side door. It took us into Mr. Clutter’s office” (Truman 236). This shows that Dick and Perry went inside to Mr. Clutter office, they were waiting in dark and looking for the safe but the safe was know where to be found. When they encounter Mr. Clutter, they took him to the office and ask him where the safe is. Mr. Clutter said that he didn’t have safe. It made Dick yelled at him and had a knife towards Mr. Clutter. Mr. Clutter gave them money that was about thirty dollars but they wanted more so they went upstairs to see who is awake. Mrs. Clutter keep saying that they don’t have a safe at all and saying that Mr. Clutter was telling the truth. Then Perry told Dick that your friend Floyd Wells lied to you about the safe. But Dick was too ashamed so he decided to tie them to their bed. After the KBI had interrogate them and they found their story to be similar but there was one information that was told differently. In the book In Cold Blood it says that “The only serious discrepancy being that Hickock attributed all four deaths to Smith, while Smith contended that Hickock had killed the two women” (Truman 245). This shows that both of Dick and Perry blamed on each other for the crime they committed to the KBI. Dewey could not forget the suffering they been through. He hoped to see them
On September 9, 1995, two officers Nolan and Harvey worked as uniformed officers in special operations for the Chicago Police Department. The expectations for entering this area was to find a crowd of people in the area, including lookouts and customers. Upon arriving to the area, Officer Nolan observed Wardlow standing next to a building holding an opaque bag. Wardlow looked in the direction of the officers and fled. Nolan and Harvey pursued in chase and cornered Wardlow on the street. Nolan exits the car and approaches Wardlow, and conducted a protective pat down search for weapons. In doing so, Officer Nolan found a .38-caliber handgun with five live rounds of ammunition. The officers arrested Wardlow. Wardlow was convicted of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.
The shooting occurred at the Fruitvale train station on January 1st, 2009. At the station, a fight broke out in one of the trains and when the train stopped the fight started again outside of the train at one of the stops. While they were fighting on the train the BART officers were called. The officers came and arrested everyone that was in the fight. A guy named Oscar Grant was in the fight and was also arrested (Meyer). While Grant was being arrested by Officer Mehserle, he resisted the officer’s attempts. Since Grant was resisting he was pushed onto the ground on his stomach to be handcuffed. Johannes Mehserle was having trouble handcuffing Grant so the other BART officers helped him. When Grant was on the ground Mehserle was going to tase him since he would not stop resisting. When Mehserle thought he pulled out his TASER, he instead pulled out his gun. Mehserle accidentally shot Grant with his gun since he thought he pulled out his TASER (Bulwa).
The elder LeGrier was heading downstairs to get his son and talk to police when he heard the gunshots. A Chicago Police Department officer thought that the younger LeGrier was lunging at him with the bat and fired. One report states seven shots were fired, and Jones was hit with a stray bullet from the officer’s firearm. When LeGrier’s father got downstairs, he saw his son and Jones on the floor of the foyer. Jones was not moving, but Quintonio appeared to still be alive. Both were transported to area hospitals where they were both pronounced dead.

According to Jess Colarossi, “Corey Jones, a well-known Florida drummer, was shot dead by an undercover Palm Beach Gardens police officer in an unmarked vehicle after leaving a late night gig” (Colarossi). Corey’s car was not able to work and he was pulled over to the side of the freeway to call for help. The police officer that shot Corey claims he was confronted by an armed individual when he was investigating a stranded vehicle. Without a body camera, there is no proof that the officer was confronted by an armed individual. Corey was on the phone with roadside assistance when the police officer shot and
“Right after he shot the man and the woman, the same person from the opposite side fired a gunshot at him again” said the witnesses. After which he also got his right forearm injured badly.
Many witnesses are not giving the idea of the two men being actual policemen. Word is spreading fast in the town of Chicago, and many people are believing it is the work of Chicago’s own.
Initial reports suggest that around 7 pm, police were pursuing suspects in a robbery along the Tabaquite Road, Rio Claro. They eventually caught up with the getaway vehicle in a lonely area surrounded by teak trees and a shootout occurred. Smith was shot several times and died on the spot.
When police officers from Chicago’s 36th District arrived, they found one gang member, Frank Gusenberg, barely alive. In the few minutes before he died, they pressed him to reveal what had happened, but Gusenberg wouldn’t talk. Police could find only a few eyewitnesses, but eventually concluded that gunmen dressed as police officers had entered the garage and pretended to be arresting the men. Though Moran and others immediately blamed the massacre on Capone’s gang, the famous gangster himself claimed to have been at his home in Florida at the time. No one
The shooting of 19 year-old Zachary Hammond took place on July 26, 2015 in Seneca, South Carolina. At around 8:20 p.m. on that day Hammond and his date Tori Morton drove in a 2001 Honda civic to Hardee’s restaurant parking lot, after an undercover officer arranged to buy drugs from her. Lieutenant Mark Tiller was sent as backup for the undercover officer. As Tiller arrived to the parking lot he parked his vehicle behind Hammond’s car in order to block Hammond’s escape. Tiller then approached the vehicle by demanding him to put his hands up, which Hammond ignored and began to drive away from the scene. After, Tiller attempted to stop the driver by stepping towards the path of the fleeing vehicle exclaiming “stop, I will blow your f**cking head off”, yet Hammond still accelerated and remained clear of the officer. Tiller then reacted by firing two rounds from his .45 caliber handgun through the open
