Television has been criticized as “a vast cultural wasteland”. Tv is supposed to be something that people use for fun and entertainment not a way to get away from your problems. Now with that being said this quote is trying to say that tv is useless. I think the reason that some people think that tv is useless is because of shows like SpongeBob and family guy. Sponge bob is a very popular kids show that has been around for years but doesn’t benefit the people watching it in anyway. In fact, watching a cartoon like SpongeBob can damaged the mind of many people and children with the stupidity that’s done on the show. Then you have a show like family guy where the things done can be called stupid but at the same time the things done are realistic but the only problem with a show like that is that it’s very inappropriate for kids to watch because of all the inappropriate behavior and violence that that is shown in a show like that. Another problem with tv isn’t the tv it’s the people. The shows are there to watch and to enjoy but it’s up to the person to watch it or the parent to allow their child to watch that. I don’t think that tv is a vast cultural wasteland because there are many different thins to see and watch and learn you just have to watch the right shows and use the right channels. Sometimes watching tv can even be fundamental.
Within Joyce Nelson’s essay, “TV News: A Structure of Reassurance”, Nelson criticizes the TV news structure that perpetually disconnects current events from their historical background through comforting anchorpeople partnered with advanced technology to create a TV program that minimizes the important implications of current events. Though lacking the amount of information that a print news publication can maintain, the TV news can convey immediate information through technological advances of modern TV equipment to allow the medium to remain competitive. The façade of in-the-moment international information broadcasted directly to viewers enables anchorpeople to maintain the feeling of immediateness, keeping the viewers believing the program

Foul smelling liquid dripped down Carl’s leg and then everyone heard something dripping so they turned around to Carl and saw him with soaking wet pants. Everyone laughed at him. Carl ran out of the classroom and started crying because he humiliated himself. The teacher came out in the hall and said how sorry she was that she didn’t let him go but how Carl abused his

Laurie, at first, did not seem at all interested. But when Laurie’s father and I both said that we knew that he was Charles, he just stared at us. “Laurie, or should I say Charles,” said Laurie’s father, “Your mother and I are very upset at your behavior.” “Lying to us is never the right thing to do. Not to talk about all the other trouble you have caused. Kicking the teacher, yelling in the classroom, being fresh, and telling other kids to say swear words is absolutely not ok Laurie!” I could see that Laurie felt a sense of fear. “Laurie,” I said, “Your father and I are going to have to punish you for what you have done. But first, we need you to apologize to your teacher and all of the students for your behavior during the past couple weeks. Do you know what it means to apologize?” “It means to say sorry,” said Laurie. “Correct,” I said. “So when you go to school today, I will ask your teacher to give you a chance to have a word

The students work on assigned classwork on the IPad. Bobby begins singing. Ms. Fizzle approaches Bobby to help him with the assignment. Ms. Frizzle walks away. After Telly exits the classroom irritated, he walks outside to go to his next class and stops in awe, and all of his anger instantly dissipates. Instead of anger he is filled with fear. Telly saw a huge crowd, like tons of army ants after someone steps on the ant hill. Everyone was so big compared to him; like giants to an infant. After snapping out of his trance, he started heading to his next class. He got lost and decided to ask someone. He tried to ask many people for a couple of minutes, but no one would listen to him. Everyone was too busy laughing and talking to their friends to pay any attention. A guy bumped into him and made him drop his books.
He bites his bottom lip. He puts his both feet on the laps of Teacher Mickey. Then, he pushes the waist of Teacher Mickey using his feet. Teacher Mickey removes his feet. He returns his feet on the waist of Teacher Mickey, then he lays them on Teacher Mikey’s laps again. He moves his feet on the waist of Teacher Mikey again. Then he pushes his feet again. He looks at his classmate coughing at his back. He returns his head facing the bookshelf. While arching his back and looking upward, he produces “brut…brut…” sounds. He rolls to his right side, then to his left. While facing the bookshelf, he says, “bab-ba”. He outstretches his left arm.
In the play area “J” goes to the science cabinet and took blocks out from the cabinet. And the teacher saw what he is doing. She went over to him and said: “Not right now!” He didn’t like what the teacher said to him and he threw the blocks across the classroom. The teacher didn’t like what he did, and told him: “You could have hurt someone”.
The intercom buzzer rings and the Mrs. Parks voice starts talking. “Students, we are now going to release everyone from school early and we want all of you to go home immediately and wait for your
Television, a telecommunication medium some may not survive without. Today’s generation may refer to television as a technological norm; delusional of a world where television was non-existent. Notably, television unites the nation through local or world events, politics, education, and entertainment. Philo Farnsworth, “Father of Television,” invented the television; the electronic transmission of fixed or mobile images. Furthermore, Farnsworth’s invention influenced a new form of media. Young Farnsworth’s scientific, technological imagination as well as, competitive battle with a major-league corporation, RCA, enticed the growth of one of the most popular media mediums; television.
