1. According to Winfrey, how is texting while driving similar to driving while drunk? How is it different?

According to Winfrey, texting while driving is similar to driving while one is drunk because in both cases one is not concentrated on the main task which is driving. As she explained, many years ago, there was a wave of fatal car accidents in the U.S. that were caused by drunken driving. After the first deaths from drunken driving had been big in the news, the country had gotten so used to these incidents that the stakes for coverage got higher and higher. The only difference between these two issues is that the driver that uses his phone is fully aware of what he is doing whereas a drunken driver is clearly not sober and probably not fully aware of his actions. Driving drunken is a decision that people often make when they do not have a clear mind, but driving while texting is an unforgivable mistake since one has a clear and sharp mind while making this possibly deadly mistake. Firstly, I think that people are not patient enough. The world has become fast and results driven, pressuring people to be always available 24 hours per day. Therefore, people have the urge to respond to a message immediately, and this impatient behavior is putting not only them in a hazardous situation but others as well. Secondly, people are under the impression that they are always under time pressure, hence, they try to multitask. But unfortunately, in my opinion, they got it wrong, multitasking is an amazing quality but there is no place for it, when driving. There are many tasks in this world that require a full focus, and driving is one of them. One should be fully focused on driving and the road ahead, otherwise the repercussions could be fatal. Lastly, some people do not understand the meaning of priority. Human life should always be the number one priority. Therefore, texting should never be a higher priority than your or other people’s life. Comprehending and accepting this crucial principle would help in preventing people to not put their and other’s life at
