Every single piece of art has a meaning or message. Art isn’t just a painting it can practically be anything that means something to someone or a group of people. It can sculpture, songs, dances, and even buildings. New York City is one of the greatest culture center of all of the United States of America. In September 9th 2001, we were attack by a couple of terrorist. They hijacked four commercial airline planes and attack a couple of important places like the pentagon and the world trade centers. They committed this horrible act because they hate American capitalism, American culture, and the American Military.
The world trade center was a symbol of capitalism that we have as a nation. The world trade center had many different businesses

This attack killed approximately 3,000 people (History.com). One other plane crashed into the Pentagon and 125 people lost their lives in that attack (History.com). That day, referred to as 9/11, left a stain in the hearts and minds of many Americans. These attacks brought out the hero in a great deal of people, but many heroes died on that day, and those heroes will never be forgotten. Because of this tragic event, millions of American citizens were injured or have had to endure the lasting effects of post-traumatic stress disorder (History.com). This awful event is our hope for the future because it taught us we need to combat terrorism better and we are still fighting this battle today (History.com).
Many People are still affected emotionally by September 11 2001 today. A huge number of people are still facing mental health issues. They are trying very hard to forget about the past and move on with there every day life. Many still fear that there might be another terror attack in the United States. The American psychological association found that people living in New York who have experienced the World Trade Center attack are showing more mental health problems more than any other place. The name of those who died at the WTC, pentagon, and in Pennsylvania aboard flight 93 . The Museum presents a gallery that tells the story of 9/11. For my research I visited the memorial for the victims and heroes of 911. The location for this grand and majestic art piece is in downtown Toms River. “Wow, the art I discovered was just so beautiful.” On a cold December morning in 2015 I took a short ride to Downtown Toms River. As soon as I pulled
New York City, one of the greatest cities of the world, is remarkable because of its history, culture, and diversity. It is world renowned for its skyscrapers, Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden, Broadway entertainment, Radio City Music Hall, Central Park, and even restaurants specializing in ethnic foods. However, the thing that most intrigues and excites me about New York City is the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
New York: 9/11 Memorial and Museum: This memorial and museum of 9/11 was my favorite site in New York and it also taught me a few life lessons. When you first walk up to the sight there are these two breathtaking fountains in the shape of the square buildings that use to stand straight up. Then around the squared fountains the names of all the victims are written. Just by looking at the fountains it taught me the first lesson, to never take life for granted no matter the situation. Realizing that the victims arose that morning not realizing that it would be their last morning getting out of bed, it disturbs and rattles you a bit. When I sat back and just watched the water flow in the middle of the fountain, it truly hit me that these were all
The 9/11 Memorial is one of the biggest man-made waterfalls in North America. The 9/11 looks like a square pool with another pool but smaller with water running down the walls, to make it a waterfall. There are two pools that look identical that are in the same spot where the towers were. The twin towers, and the memorial are in New York City. The walls of the pools are made out of black granite. Each pool is about an acre in size and holds up to 480,000 of recycled water. 9/11 Memorial is not only a beautiful pool itself but is also surrounded by trees.
On September 11, 2001, our country faced the biggest terrorist attack on U.S. soil. On the date of 9/11, Al Qaeda hijacked four planes and crashed two into the Twin Towers in New York to kill and strike fear into Americans. The attack killed thousands and destroyed two of the most important buildings in New York City. The Twin Towers were a symbol of economic and military power. Terrorists targeted the skyscrapers because it shows how far our country has gone in our history.
Smoke and dust everywhere, people running in and out of the world trade centers some people not making it at all. September 11, 2001 was a day that America will never forget, terrorists hijacked two planes specifically and used them as as missile to launch into the world trade centers. In the photo, the flag functions as a symbol for the idea that America will not be defeated.
Imagine losing billions of dollars in seconds. That’s what happened to the people of New York on the day of the terrorist attack. Upsetting many people which lead to many changes. 9/11 set an example for us, and how to prevent this in the future from happening to our next generation. Undoubtedly, American history is our future for tomorrow, so we have made changes.
The most deadly event the history of New York City happened when four planes crashed into the World Trade Center. This event killed over 3,000 people, including more than 400 police officers and firefighters. The event is known around the world as 9/11.
Ask any two people if they remember where they were on 9/11 and you will receive a stunningly detailed description. However, if you ask those same two people for a detailed account of what happened that day you would receive two vastly different stories. Why is that? Well, memory is a very subjective thing. Public memory is subject to even more hazy recollections. Scholars, witness, and government officials all have different versions about the details. Often times it is artists who bring together these accounts by creating work which encourages public discussion. Two such artists are Isabelle Gardner, writer of the poem "Children Are Game " and Andy Warhol, painter of "Atomic Bomb". These two artists contribute to the collective memory of
The World Trade Center (WTC) represented American pride and influnce. The twin towers stood 1,352 feet with 110 stories. It was finished in 1971. The morning of September 11 no one knew that four flights would be hijacked to take American lives and using two of them to bring down the World Trade Center. Yes there had been warnings that an aviation attack would happen but who knew when it would happen and how would it have been prevented. Flight 11 American Airlines (AA) hit the North Tower around 8:46 am between the
When you go to an art show do you understand the symbolic interpretation of the pieces? Don’t feel bad, most people don’t. What’s so upsetting about that is that you really miss out on the experience. When I think about interpretation of art I think of Andy Warhol. Andy Warhol’s use of iconography changed not only the art world but the people who came into contact with his art. Once you understand his life and art, you will understand his art as a symbolic representation.
Positioned alongside Central Park within the heart of New York City, The Metropolitan Museum of Art is one of the largest and most influential art museums in the world. The Met houses an extensive collection of curated works that spans throughout various time periods and different cultures. The context of museums, especially one as influential as the Met, inherently predisposes its visitors to a set of understandings that subtly influence how they interpret and ultimately construct meanings about each individual object within a museum. By analyzing two separate works on exhibit at the Met, I will pose the argument that museums offer a unique expression of a world view that is dictated through every element of its construction.
