The Atomic Bomb: Caused Peace or War? The Atomic bomb was developed in the early 1940’s as Nazi Germany and the American and allied scientists raced to create the first ever atomic bomb. Still, even today there has only ever been two atomic bombs used during an attack, the Hiroshima, and Nagasaki. Both atomic bombs are what pushed to the end of World War II however, it was at the cost of many innocent lives. The atomic bomb had ended one war but started the “Atomic Age” which would create fear and desperation across many different nations. The creation and development of the atomic bomb were unnecessary because from the past and current world events it has shown that it only lead to fear, destruction, and war, not peace. The atomic bomb has spread fear, terror, and uncertainty of the future around the world. Immediately after the first bomb went off, the Japanese were scared and confused as to what had just happened to their city. When just days later another bomb was dropped, it caused a tremendous amount of panic for them. As the word was spread throughout the world, it caused more and more talk of where else this could potentially happen. People no longer felt safe where they were but they couldn’t do anything about it. Even today the threat of another atomic bomb is lurking around all of us, and the idea of it is quite terrifying. For something as destructive as the atomic bomb you have to wonder, what if a military were to use this type of weaponry
