The Best and Worst of the American Industrial Revolution
Paradoxes as well as contradictions have been expressed in describing previous time periods. Stated from A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...for the good or for the evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only” (Dickens 1). Specifically, Dickens had referred this quote to a French revolution, but the statement can pertain to many other historical events and continues through today. In the American Industrial Revolution, the outcome left multiple views of whether it was considered a pro or a con. However, the American Industrial Revolution has demonstrated both numerous challenges along with countless benefits to the country.
The American Industrial Revolution took place in the United States during the 19th and 20th century. When the new uprising change came to America, the United States was heavily influenced by European ideas, which for Europe began in the late 18th century (Hillstrom 10). America started off primarily as an agricultural country until it gained dominance in industry and finance by 1918. Labor, politics, enslaved African Americans, and such important resources were of the many factors that helped spread industrialization. Additionally, the U.S. government was effectively involved by supplying equipment and assisting to the many advancements from the nation’s transformation (Hinshaw and Stearns vol 2 491). Within a single century, the

The evidence clearly shows that advancements in new technology, a large wave of immigrants into our country and new views of our government, helped to promote America’s huge industrial growth from the period of 1860-1900.
With the Industrial Revolution beginning in England around 1760 it gradually came to America over the years; however the effects were never fully felt until around 1830. It really all started in 1768 when the textile Industry was secretly brought to America by a man named Samuel Slater. “Slater told no one of his plans to leave England. If word spread, he

During the late 1700’s, the United States was no longer a possession of Britain, instead it was a market for industrial goods and the world’s major source for tobacco, cotton, and other agricultural products. There was also widespread economic growth during this time period

“Earth provides enough to satisfy every man 's needs, but not every man 's greed.” - Mahatma Gandhi Since the start of the Industrial Revolution the United States of America has been dependent on burning fossil fuels for energy. In 2015 nearly sixty seven percent of energy generated in the United States was from fossil fuels including coal, natural gas, and petroleum. The United States had been aware of a large abundance of natural gas in shale rock formations thousands of feet below the surface; however, when they first found these rocks around 1940 there was no technology or tools advanced enough to drill into these rocks, until the 1970s and 1980s. Companies worked endlessly finding a way to allow shale rocks to release the gas that they held. Companies eventually came up with a practice called hydraulic fracturing, also known as fracking; this process utilizes water pressure to fracture or break a rock in order to release and collect fuel such as gas or oil. In recent years, companies have mixed sand, chemicals and other proponents to retrieve the maximum amount of gas that each drilling site has to offer. A heated debate has begun concerning these mixtures and the money involved in fracking. While one side asserts that fracking should be banned because of potential environmental damage produced by the fracking mixtures, others claim that fracking should continue because of potential gains it could provide for the economy in the United States.
This was signed May 30,1830. The creator of this act was President Andrew Jackson. Most Indian tribes obeyed to leave but some, like the cherokee didn’t and it caused 4,000 cherokees to die.
The Industrial Revolution in America, which peaked from 1870 to 1914, changed how the country did many things from the beginning to now. The Revolution was kick started when Samuel Slater brought manufacturing technologies from the United Kingdom to the United States. He founded the first cotton mill, which was powered by water. This confined the industrial companies to the North. Since that led to most of the industries being in the North, many new ways of transportation popped up. This fueled trading and income for the United States. Many inventions were made to help improve the peoples ' everyday lives. The combination of iron and steel resulted in more railroads

Imagine this, a farmer is trying to make ends meet with the little resources that he has. The farmer only has broad daylight, two hands, tools, and fertile soil. However, even though the farmer has determination to make vast production, time waits for noone. What happens when the sun goes down, when the farmer’s hands begin to blister, maybe the farmer will become dehydrated and will have to stop production? There’s a famous quote that states “time is money,”which before the Industrial Revolution was admittedly true. Merchants could not spare a second because time could not afford to be wasted. Furthermore, during the rise of the Industrial Revolution, which took place during the18th and 19th century, merchants were eleiviated of the burden of meager income, malnutrition, and etc. Which of course sounds great, who wouldn’t want a huge weight to be lifted off their shoulders? However, although author Kevin Shultz in his work HIST3 gives great detail as to how the emersion of the “Wild West” brought along some of our favorite cowboy stories and the increase in production ratings, Shultz fails to acknowledge how the Industrial Revolution negatively affected the Native Americans and the Chinese. Thus, the downside of the Industrial Revolution will be critically analyzed in accordance from Chief Red Cloud’s speech, as well as and *put other author* and their work *put title of work*
