Global warming is an issue that threatens the world, but is often overlooked. This problem is an increase in the earth's temperature due to fossil fuels, industries, agricultural, and man-made causes. This results in the release of greenhouse gases. As climate changes occur in our earth's atmosphere buildup of greenhouse gases. There are many problems that are causing global warming, and if they are not taken serious or at least prevented there are going to be some severe issues in the near future. Global warming has been caused by the people of the world. Pollution is one of the biggest problems caused by people. No one seems to realize is that by burning fossil fuels is one thing that causes pollution. Fossil fuels are fuels …show more content…
Our modern car burning gasoline is responsible for about 33% of the emission in the U.S. With our population growing at a rapid rate, the demand for more cars and consumer goods means that we are increasing the use of fossil fuels for transportation and manufacturing. A recent poll of twenty people, shows that 86% of the people think that it is a serious problem, 4% think it is not an issue, but could not give a valid answer, 10% are undecided. Some people that don't believe in global warming say that there's no scientific proof that the earth’s temperature is rising. Those who thought it is a major issue all had ideas on to if not stop global warming at least slow down the process. Natural gas is an extremely important source of energy for reducing pollution and maintaining a clean and healthy environment. As the cleanest of the fossil fuels, natural gas can be used in many ways to help reduce the emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere. Burning natural gas in the place of other fossil fuels emits fewer harmful pollutants into the atmosphere, and an increased reliance on natural gas can potentially reduce the emission of many of these most harmful pollutants. The use of natural gas to power both industrial boilers and processes and the generation of electricity can significantly improve the emissions.
Hybrid cars have been out on the market for a couple of years now. They use a small gasoline engine and high powered electric motor to drive the car.
Global Warming is a major world problem that we have but people don’t seem to realize that and it may end all life on earth as we know it. We are causing many problems to the earth that we don’t realize what we are doing we may think everything is ok but it’s not. Global warming is all our fault and we need to stop!
Global warming refers to the rise in temperature in the Earth's atmosphere and oceans. Each year the temperature of the Earth increases gradually with an insignificant amount; however, with pollution produced by humans, the rate has increased even more compared to pre-industrial levels. According to NOAA, "Global surface temperature in 2016 was the warmest since official records began in 1880. It was the third year in a row to set a new heat record, and the fifth time the record has been broken since the start of the 21st century.” The earth is getting warmer every day and is starting to become a real problem, especially when it is approaching the threshold. The rise in temperature is so rapid that it could influence and change the composition of the world's population. In fact, the consequences of global warming are unnoticed in our daily lives because they are affecting us slowly. The rising average temperature of Earth is changing our lives for little things. There is much evidence that the Earth is warming as a result of the increased concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Perhaps the most notable signs of global warming are the natural catastrophes like hurricanes and winter storms. The effects of global warming are different all over the world, and they affect people's lives differently. People should be concerned about global warming and its effects because we only have one planet where we can
In order to understand the issue of global warming (also referred to as climate change), you must first understand what it means and how it happens. Global warming is a result of a process known as the greenhouse effect, in which the light and heat from the sun are trapped in the Earth’s atmosphere by greenhouse gases; which subsequently raises the average temperature on Earth. The greenhouse gases responsible for this process are carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, chlorofluorocarbons, and tropospheric ozone, all of which are released into the atmosphere through naturally occurring processes (Warrick, R. & Farmer, G., 1990).
While fossil fuels continue to drive human development, it causes great damage to our environment. For example, the polar ice caps are slowly melting away due to global warming. This is because everything has waste. We fuel our bodies with food, as a result, we get waste. We fuel engines with fossil fuels, as a result, we get waste, just in a different
Global warming is the growth of Earths normal temperature due to greenhouse gases, like carbon dioxide (CO2) from burning fossil fuels or from deforestation. The headache of global warming is that there are two very different sides and positions around the topic. Some scientists strongly believe that global warming is occurring and other scientists strongly believe that the whole story is fabricated and not true. While these scientists are interpreting, and observing the same data and in similar ways, they continue to draw different conclusions and use separate pieces of that data to formulate their own position and arguments. While both sides refuse to accept each other, they still do find some areas of agreement and understanding. Both agree
When natural gas is looked for, the process to look for it as pollution in the air because people drive around looking for where to find the natural gas. The natural gas also is taken from the ground using a process called fracking. This means that dirty water, chemicals and other stuffs are put into the ground to make natural gas, up out of the ground. All of this process creates pollution which goes into the
Global warming, a major concern in today’s society, is the increase in the temperature of the oceans and atmosphere that occurs when incoming energy levels are greater than outgoing energy levels. There are numerous causes of global warming that can potentially affect every aspect of life on Earth. Typically, the causes of global warming are divided into two primary categories: human causes and natural causes. And while there is very little that humans can do to eliminate the natural causes, there are several ways we can reduce the human causes.
For the past few years Global Warming has been an issue that continues to worry Scientists from all over the world to this day. Global Warming is a gradual increase in the overall temperature of the Earth’s atmosphere generally attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by higher levels of Carbon Dioxide. Many people believe that Global warming is the one thing that is causing ice to melt on Earth.
Global Warming is a result of too much carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. It acts sort of like a blanket, trapping heat and warming the Earth. As we humans burn fuel like coal, oil and natural gasses for energy and burn down forests to create farms, carbon is accumulating and overloading our atmosphere. Global Warming is a fundamental problem, and these are some reasons as to why.
When fossil fuels such as coal and oil are burned to produce power for cities, factories, cars and to heat homes, large amounts of polluting gases are produced.
The world has 23,047,419 Natural gas vehicles with 28,779 refuelling stations and Nigeria has 6000 Natural gas vehicles with 6 refuelling stations as at January 2017 (NVG Global, 2017).
Global warming is an increase in the temperature of the earth's weather. Global warming is also known as the green house effect. Global warming is a very serious world issue. Most humans are trying to do as much as they can to help stop global warming. Global warming has caused many problems to the earth in addition to the humans that live here on the earth. A problem caused by global warming is very hot summers. Some summers have had days that the temperature had reached 30*C. Another Problem that global warming has caused is the melting of polar ice caps. Global warming caused the polar ice caps to melt which will cause the ice to break free as well as melt in the sea, sea levels all over the world will rise. Lastly,
According to a recent study, humans having been causing global warming for about 180 years. The study reconstructed 500 years of climate to determine when the warming shift started. They found that the earliest stages of human-caused greenhouse warming began in the Industrial Revolution, mainly around the 1830s in the Arctic and tropical oceans, followed by change in North America, Europe, and Asia. At this time in human history, we has started burning fossil fuels like coal. This was used to power factory machines, and steam engines used in trains and steamboats. Fossil fuels originate from the remains of ancient plants and animals, and when burned, release carbon-dioxide and other greenhouse gases in the
Global warming has become a world wide issue and an issue that is causing great controversy. It is an increase in the earth's atmospheric and oceanic temperatures widely predicted to occur due to an increase in the greenhouse effect resulting especially from pollution (Dictionary). Global warming is a natural process, but because of increase in certain activities this process is taking a faster and more dangerous route creating global problems. Global warming was first theorized in 1894 by Jean Baptiste Joseph Fourier a French mathematician, who noticed the earth was gradually increasing in temperature. He came to the conclusion that the earth’s atmosphere was trapping solar radiation caused by the sun and reflecting this radiation back to
