Both Islam and Christianity have practices or duties that are central to the life of there religious community. Catholics are expected to take part in as many of the Seven Sacraments as possible, while Muslims are expected to practice all of the Five Pillars Of Islam. Both Muslims and Christians are monotheists, believing in the same god, referred to as “Allah” by the Muslims and “God” by Catholics. In this sense Islam and Christianity are considerably intertwined, appearing to come from the same beginning. Both Islam and Christianity are based primarily on the lives and teachings of men sent by God. In Christianity, Jesus was the son of God, sent down to earth to spread the word of the Lord to the people, and ultimately die a brutal death so that this people may reach eternal peace in heaven. Christians praise Jesus’ suffering for them as well as for his teachings and for the miracles he performed to assist the needy. Despite the fact that Islam and Christianity share a mutual God, Muslims do not believe that
Christianity and Islam are two of the world’s largest religions. The two are different in beliefs but are similar in origin. Like many religions both Islam and Christianity claim to be the one and only true way to God. Although Islam and Christianity differ in major ways, they also share some similarities.
Christianity and Islam have several similar aspects. Both religions praise the same God, although they each have a different given name. Muslims refer to their god as Allah, and Christians simply refer to their god as God. Both religions are monotheistic, and both even have a set of religious laws that all who are righteous abide by. Muslims follow the Five Pillars of Islam, while Christians follow the Ten Commandments. Both religions even have their own religious texts: The Bible and The Koran. Christian missionaries declare that The Bible consists of true narratives based on actual revelations, and establish that the Prophet Muhammad is an imposter. However, it is extremely possible that
For Judaism, Torah- originally, the written record of the revelations as given to Moses on Mount Sinai. For Christianity, Bible -the holy book that combines the Old Testament (or the Hebrew Bible) with the history and teachings of Jesus as recorded by his disciples in the 27 books of the New Testament, including the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. For Islam, Qur'an -the sacred text of Islam that is considered to be the literal word of God, or Allah, as revealed to Muhammad through the angel Gabriel.
Islam and Christianity are the largest religion in the world and share many common beliefs. The two religions co-exist in many parts of the world. However, each religion has it is own territories where they are the dominant religion. The two religions share almost the same history of inception and concepts of faith. Despite, being similar in many ways, they also have marked differences. The differences have led to mutual distrust between the Christians and the Muslims. Many Muslims have come out openly to criticize the Christian religion and Christians have written many articles condemning the Islam religion. The differences and similarities appear in many aspects of the religions. As such, it is easier to discuss them intensively by restricting the discussion to selected aspects. The life after death and belief in the Supreme Being by the believers of Christianity and Islam religions has many differences and similarities.

The Bible is said to be inspired by the words of God and the Qur’an is believed to be Allah’s literal words. Both have prophets, Mohammed and Jesus. Mohammed is believed to have been given the words of Allah which he transcribed as the Qur’an. Jesus, believed to be the son of God, preached the word of God which was written after his crucifixion by his disciples and other scholars of the time producing the Bible. In both Christianity and Islam, women have an inferior status to all men. Both religious groups focus a majority of their practices on charity and prayer, but in the Islamic religion their practice also centers on law, justice rules for daily life and destruction of non-believers. In Islam, government exists to uphold the laws found in the Qur’an, unlike the Christian religion where there is separation between government and religion.
Without listing all the common points between Christianity and Islam, we can summarize that Christianity and Islam have the same common aspect in terms of their conception of God, Jesus, sin, faith, forgiveness, God's Word and the Holy Spirit, God’s providence, in the worldwide community of believers joined together by common faith and purpose, in the sharing of God giving possessions, and in the final judgement:
Over the course of this semester, we have talked about the five main religions, each of which containing their own views, backed by their own scriptures and holy books. Due to a length limit, I am going to outline how the Protestant Bible and the Koran came to be in order to demonstrate the differences between how these books were created. I do not begin to understand all of the complications on this topic, nor will all of the arguments that could be made be touched on; however, my critical analysis will include how these books were manifested, and their unique paths to authentication and being accepted by the people of their religion.
As all religions Islam and Christianity have many similarities, but the religions also have key differences. Muslims belief in one God which they call Allah, in the same way Christians also believe in one God. Even though both religions belief in one God, Christians believe that Jesus is the son the of God while Muslims believe that God has no family members (brothers, sister, parents, children, etc). The Muslims follow the a holy book called the Quran which teaches them to follow a code of conduct like to respect, truthfulness, and encourage peace; likewise the Christians also have a holy book called the Bible which follows the same code of conduct. Although both books are very similar they have key difference for example a new version of
Similar to the Hebrew Bible and Christian New Testament, the Islam religion established a book called The Koran (Qu’ran) to spread God’s words to his followers. Knowing that the words are directly from God, a Muslim would use what is presented in the text as a guide on how life should be approach to gain a life with eternity at the end. One key aspect of the Koran is to focus on provoking a more specific purpose through practices on how Islamic citizens should participate in their societies based on core beliefs established by God.
The Bible is a collection of sixty books that was written by diverse of authors, including the apostles and the disciple of Jesus. The Bible divided into two Testaments; the Old and New Testament. The Old Testament or the old contract is a collection of thirty-six books and the New Testament has twenty seven books. The New Testament is a contract between God and the humanity through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Koran was written by Muhammad, a prophet of God. Muslims believed that he received a message from Angel Gabriel and wrote the Koran. However, Both the Bible and the Koran are the words of God. The Christians believe in the resurrection of Christ Jesus has the son of God while the Muslims do not believe Jesus
Throughout the Quran, there are many beliefs that Muslims and Christians agree and disagree about concerning the personage of Jesus. Among the few areas of agreement between the two, both the Quran and the Bible claim that Jesus came into the world through Mary, a virgin. While he came from Mary’s womb, it was not through intercorse but by the work of God. In the Quran, when Mary encounters one of Allah’s angels, Mary responds to his message, “‘My Lord, how can I have a son when no man has touched me?’ {The angel] said, ‘This is how God creates what he will: when he has ordained something, He only says, “Be”, and it is.” (3.47). Evidently, Jesus came into the world because it was the will of God, not through the actions of Mary. Because Allah chose to bring him into the world, Allah merely spoke and it came to be. The Quran then establishes through this that it was not through intercourse that Mary came to bear Jesus, but purely through Allah’s willing the creation of a child in her womb. Similarly, Luke 1.34 records how the angle of the Lord came to Mary to inform her of how she would become the mother of Jesus. To quote Scripture, the gospel of Luke states, “And Mary said to the angel, ‘How will this be, since I am a virgin?’ And the angel answered her, ‘The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you.” (1.34-35). Here, Mary is portrayed as a pure, unmarried woman who is a virgin, and the angel foretells of God being the
The text in the Qur’an and in the Bible share many of the same stories and messages, but they also share many notable differences. In the Qur’an, the prophet Muhammad “received communications directly from God” (858) and every message or story received from God was added to the Qur’an. The messages he received from God were not written down at first, but it was Muhammad’s duty to spread the word received from God verbally to many people. The Qur’an was later put into words during the rule of Abu Bakr. The Bible, however, was written by many different people in many different versions. Like the Qur’an, the Bible depicts many different narratives that are written in third person. The narrator both the Qur’an and in the Bible are God, but spoken
