The Las Vegas and Atlantic City locations have lost revenues in recent years. In addition to the economic slowdown, these gambling locations are also facing new competitors in the market that are providing attractive choices to the customers. Though there are some external forces beyond their control, it seems that attractiveness and accessibility are very important focus areas for these cities.

Las Vegas is one of the nation's favorite vacation destinations. Las Vegas, in Nevada’s Mojave Desert, is a resort town famed for its buzzing energy. It's a 24-hour city where gambling is a loved past-time and dreams of striking it rich can come true. Its focal point is the Strip, just over 4 miles long and lined with elaborate theme hotels such as the pyramid-shaped Luxor and the Venetian, complete with Grand Canal; luxury resorts including the Bellagio, set behind iconic dancing fountains; and innumerable casinos.

You usually would not expect a seventeen year old to say that they love vacationing to Las Vegas, but in my case I absolutely love it. There are so many fun activities to do I just can not get enough.

Even though it is known as “America’s Finest City”, a large problem is occurring all throughout our neighborhoods. With 8,692 sheltered and unsheltered people calling the streets their home, as of January 29,2016, homelessness is one of the largest and most well-known issue throughout the city (Black et al, 1). Likewise, depending on which studies you are looking at, San Diego is ranked number 3 or 4 with the highest homeless population in the country (McElroy,2016). In downtown, where a majority of the homeless individuals reside, this problem not only effects the appearance of the city, but can also have an impact on the local businesses and hotels.

The city of Chicago, Illinois has a total population of 2,695,598. The largest population out of my three cities, the population is composed of 31.7 percent non- Hispanic whites and the second largest contributor to the city’s total population is Non-Hispanic Blacks with 32.4 percent. Hispanic or Latinos consist of 28.9 percent of the population. I have chosen this city as an immigrant city due to the sheer numbers of Hispanic population. Another reason it was chosen as such, was because out of the 2,695,598 people there are 572,416 foreign born people and out of that total Hispanic origin people consist of 28.4 percent.
