The Cold War began not very long after the end of World War II in 1945. Despite the fact that, the Soviet Union was an essential part of the Allied Powers, there was certainly a great amount of distrust between the Soviet Union and what remains of the Allies, specifically the United States. The Allies were worried about Stalin 's ruthless leadership and also the spread of communism. The Cold War was a long stretch of tension between the US and the communist countries of Eastern Europe, the USSR. These two nations later became known as superpowers. Even though the two superpowers never formally announced war on each other, they battled indirectly in proxy wars, the arms race, and the space race. At last, the Cold War came to its end with the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. The United States and the Soviet Union additionally tried to fight the Cold War by showing their power and innovation. Although, both countries are partially at fault, the Marshall Plan, NATO, and the Iron Curtain Speech prove that the Soviet Union is responsible for starting the Cold War.
On the other hand, some may argue that the United States should take the blame instead. The Marshall Plan was created by the United States in 1947 to supply aid for Western European countries after the war. There was about $13 billion given out to provide aid to recover their economy. After the World War 2 between powers in the Eastern Bloc and powers in the Western Bloc, the relationship developed primarily between the USA and USSR; eventually leading up to a war called the Cold War. Although the Cold War was between the United States and the Soviet Union; ultimately, the Cold War was mainly caused by the USSR because of Stalin’s dominating behavior, the USSR’s military and territory expansion, and USSR’s aim of spreading world communism or USSR’s dislike of capitalism.
The Cold War could be described as one of the most 'distant' wars in history because there was no direct military fighting involved, only threats and fights through other countries. Although, many lives and money was lost, it was not as fatal and severe as World War II. In 1947, or right after World War II, the Cold War began due to conflict between the United States and Soviet Union. It ended on December 26, 1991 and the United States endured most of the damage that was a result of the war while Russia became a larger territory through the countries they gained power over. The war took place in the U.S., USSR, Europe, Cuba, Vietnam, Greece, Korea, East Asia and South America and lasted for over forty years. Although both contributed to the war, the United States should be blamed for the increasing tensions of the Cold War because of the NATO, Marshall Plan and Truman Doctrine.

He felt that the Truman Doctrine was the first step towards this goal, but it had been too harsh to attract any European support.
