For my CEP project, I wanted to do something to help the community outside of TCNJ. I also wanted to learn more about the issues facing women, men, and families across America. After researching a few different organizations, I decided to volunteer at a non-profit organization called 180 Turning Lives Around. 180 Turning Lives around is an organization based in Monmouth County that was established to help victims and survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence. They offer a variety of help including counseling to victims, safe houses and transition houses for people looking to get out of violent relationships, and abuse prevention clinics. The entire organization runs solely on donations and they help families, women, and men get away from their abusers and find a better life. I began volunteering at this organization when I was a senior in high school. I continued volunteering sophomore year of college at the beginning of the semester and continued throughout the semester for this project. I have been volunteering once a week since October 4th and my last day volunteering was November 15th. I have been volunteering alternating Tuesdays and Wednesdays for 3 hours at a time. I volunteered there for about 21 hours over the semester. While volunteering, I was doing mostly administrative work. I was filing and sorting through donations, mailing donation flyers, and entering data into spreadsheets. I helped to plan events to spread community awareness such as charity
I am writing this letter in regards of the dismissal from the Nursing Program at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), due to my inadequate and unsatisfactory performance in Anatomy & Physiology II (BIO 142) and Principles of Microbiology (BIO 144), which are both seminal Nursing prerequisites. But, before I continue and explain my downfall, I want to first off apologize for the inconvenience, and disappointment, that I have bestowed on you all. You all have selected and chose the handful of amazing
that I have been looking forward to being part of since I started high school. I have the leadership qualities that are required to be part of this organization because I am involved in activities inside and outside of school. I have the ability to lead and assist with activities around and outside of school. With my leadership skills, I believe I will be able to make a major difference and contribution to National Honor Society. Leadership qualities are a natural part of my life.
