INTRODUCTION

Romanticism is a movement which influences many works as literature, painting, music, architecture, and it developed in Germany and Britain in the early decades of the nineteenth century and progressed until mid century. The period started in 1790 and finished 1830. It can be said that this period had started with the publication of Lyrical Ballads by Wordsworth and Coleridge and ended with the death of famous novelist Sir Walter Scott. It is clear that this period has a variety of styles, themes and also has great influence on poetry. It is not only related to poetry, but also related to history, painting, politics, music, architecture, philosophy and literature… so on.

First one is a growing interest in the common man and childhood. Romanticism became interested in the common man and childhood. It focuses on the common man. Common man is important. Common man means the man in the street, childhood is very important in Romanticism. It is time of simplicity, purify. Childhood is another important characteristic of Romanticism. Romantics believe that originally men have a good nature, so, it is society, culture, politics, which corrupt the human nature so, childhood closer to originally good nature of men. William Wordsworth says that “Child is the father of man. We are born innocent, but it is society which spoils us. All men, regardless of his background, culture, title, financial status; is naturally good.
