Over population is an issue that plagues people all over the world. American’s specifically are headed towards a population of over 400 people by 2050. High population numbers like these can lead to an abundance of environmental issues. One of these issues specifically is air pollution. Air pollution is primarily the cause of industrialization and releasing toxic fumes into the atmosphere. This causes the ozone levels to rise to unhealthy conditions. If countries like the U.S don’t become active in preventing these environmental issues, overpopulation would just continue to increase them. This would affect American citizens because environmental issues, like air pollution, caused by over population will have a negative effect on the quality of life and the ability to breathe clean air. …show more content…

Air pollution is specifically dangerous because of the effects in can have on a person’s health. There is an unknown when referring to the health effects because the toxins released from various substances can be different. The most common form of air pollutants is carbon monoxide (CO) which is typically produced from vehicles and factories. Huge cities in the United Sates, such as New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco are some of the primary contributors to these toxic releases. The American Lung association claims that “about 47 percent of Americans live in counties with frequently unhealthy levels of either ozone or particulate pollution” (Roppolo).
