Smoking should not be allowed. 40 million adults smoke in the United States currently! 480,000 people die each year in the United States from smoking and 42,000 die from secondhand smoking. (Smoking should be banned because it gives you many cancers, affects four of your five senses, and affects your heart, brain, and stomach.)
Smoking gives you many cancers. In fact, the highest cancer you get from smoking is lung cancer. According to "18 Ways Smoking Affects Your Health." it states that if you smoke your ability to get lung cancer goes up 23% than the average person. Also, you also can get cancer such as mouth cancer. Some side effects are losing teeth, sore throat, painful tongue, and many other reasons. Along with, you can get bladder cancer from smoking. If you smoke the risk for you to get bladder cancer goes up 3 times than the nonsmoker. Therefore, I don’t think getting cancer and losing your teeth is worth smoking!

In fact, the brain is the cause of the person to get addicted in the first place on you get enough nicotine. Once you get addicted to smoking it is hard to stop smoking because you feel anxious, irritable, and you want more nicotine. In addition, it also affects your heart many ways. Smoking raises your blood pressure which causes weakening in the heart, and your blood starts to thicken and get sticky which also causes the heart to work harder and many lead to heart attacks or strokes. Furthermore, people who smoke get bigger stomachs and are more likely to develop diabetes. People who smoke have less muscle and bigger stomach than a non-smoker and people who smoke are more likely to develop type 2 diabetes which can lead to blindness, heart disease, kidney failure, and amputations.
