Baer “licensed the system to Magnavox. In 1972, Magnavox released the design as the Magnavox Odyssey, paving the way for all video game systems that followed.” (American History SI). The first game for the “Magnavox” was “light gun”. Over the next forty four years video gaming system and games have changed the world as we know it. Over the past sixteen years video games have become very realistic, almost real life. One half of the argument believes video games are a positive act and the other half of the argument believes that video games are a negative act. Both parties have significant data backing up their own personal beliefs. There has been many studies done around the topic of children playing video games trying to conclude which side of the argument is correct which is very hard to do. Some of the studies prove that video games are a good thing for children, and some studies prove that video games are a bad thing for children.
