This paper explores the United States, Immigration Policy from an historical, fair and factual perspective. The Immigration Act of 1990 States limited “unskilled workers to 10,000 a year. Skilled labor requirements and immediate family reunification were major goals. The Act continued to promote the nuclear family model, foreign-born in the US was 7%”. This paper will also explore the demographics and diversity, of immigrants, throughout the U.S. This paper includes an article form the website of the Washington, D.C., Immigration Policy Center, and American Immigration Council. This paper will examines significant research data from the Pew Research web site on Hispanic trends and immigration, around the United States. This paper will also cover numbers, facts and trends which shape the immigration policy. This paper will also include five different books written by authors concerning the immigration policy and public issues which most concern Americans. This paper will cover topics of history of social problems and the policies that address immigration, special interest groups advocacy groups, political party and supporters, social justice and ethical issues, policy outcomes of illegal immigrants and how other countries compare to the United States when dealing with immigration.

We are now in the 21st century and like the beginning of the 20th century the United States finds itself in the throes of a period of mass immigration. More then one million immigrants enter the Unites States, both legally and illegally every single year. Many argue that this new wave of mass immigration may help sustain the success that our nation is having in regard to the way of living that many American have come accustomed to and yet others believe that although our nation was created by immigrants it is time to "shut down" our borders. When immigration policy is discussed, typically, it is discussed within the confines of egalitarian notions and sentiments, and inside the boundaries and parameters set by generally Marxist-influenced social democracy. Characteristically, it is not discussed pertaining to the concept of a social order built on the rights of property owners, sharers, and contributors to and of the common stock- which at their discretion- may exclude bad apples, lazy contributors, rotten characters, trespassers, and terrorists. Once egalitarian sentiments and notions are rejected full-scale- (only giving credence to those that have empirical weight or logical consistency) more proper, more substantive interdisciplinary analyses may reveal that the current investigative techniques employed by current mainstream political theorists are- in the context of reality, incorrect, superficial and quite shallow.

The next major issue addressed by a large number of Americans is healthcare. It goes without saying that a significant topic at the time of the Congressional turnover is the Affordable Care Act. This is another example of democratically legislative piece being pushed and opposed by a Republican voting body. Immigrating is to come to a country of which one is not a native, usually for permanent residence. It goes along with drive and determination to seek pleasure out of life, chase dreams, and purse happiness even in the most desperate of times. Migrating affects the communities that the migrants leave as well as the communities that receive them. There are many views as to why people migrate to different countries, the impact of immigration in countries, and how countries should go about regulating immigration. When discussing the ethics of immigration, it is important to view this topic from both sides and not just one side. In doing so, a person gets a sense of the bigger picture that the U.S. is currently dealing with due to immigration. With that being said, the United States should strive for an immigration policy that can benefit everyone involved as a whole.

Immigration is a topic on everyone 's minds these days. With presidential candidates vying for votes in debates and political campaigns, immigration has been talked about quite a bit. But what is truly known about immigration? Since it is such a divisive issue, it is hard to know what is true and what isn’t. Unfortunately, the information most readily available to us comes in the form of opinionated articles and biased speeches by presidential candidates. Because the information we receive is biased, not necessarily true, and only a piece of a larger picture, it’s hard to know what to believe. With some saying immigration hurts our economy and others arguing for the benefits of immigration, no one truly understands the actual economic impact of immigration. For this paper, I have chosen three academic journals on the topic of the economics of immigration that agree on one important point: our immigration system is broken.

Immigration has always been a complex issue in the United States. Previous and current administrations have had great difficulties in setting policies and programs in place to address this problem. The impact of immigration is a highly controversial topic that gets touched on with the media outlets frequently. With the development of newfound criticism and the rise of popular slogans such as “Immigrants take Jobs,” immigration has become an increasingly prominent economic topic that contains multiple viewpoints and requires discussion. Many economics have noted that alterations in immigration impact a variety of economic policies that make it virtually impossible to make conclusive models on both it’s short-term and long-term effects. Yet, there seems to be agreement that rapid changes such as the ones occurring in our country right now may lead to a decline in economic growth. Therefore, as proposals of reducing legal immigration increase, it has become necessary to view immigration as a serious fiscal issue, that although on the surface may seem to solve a plethora of problems, really doesn’t.

In discussing public policy on immigration reform, it is important to understand the difference between an “Immigrant” and “Illegal alien”. According to IRS.gov (2016), immigrant is defined as “an alien who has been granted the right by the USCIS to reside permanently in the United States”. An illegal alien is known as an “undocumented alien” who enters the country illegally or enters the country legally but falls “out of status”. It is important to note that illegal alien and illegal immigrant are used interchangeably. The policy-making process on Immigration reform is an important issue for Americans and is likely to play an important role in the 2016 presidential election.

Although the issue of immigration policy has been at the center of political debates, largely discussed in the media and newspapers, no one has yet found a solution to this ill-defined problem, that would comply with the America’s core values. While I think the immigration policy does need a reform, the solution to this problem certainly is not a deportation of all undocumented residents.

The famous singer-songwriter, Conor Oberst, told huffington post, “How we treat the undocumented says a great deal about us as a people and whether or not we'll continue to fulfill the fundamental American promise of equality and opportunity for all.” According to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, 240,255 people were deported in the year 2016. However, this year the number of arrest have rose up to 38 percent (Gomez). The number of people being deported have been increasing every year. The reason behind the increase of number is unfair hearings and policy of deportation. The United States Immigration System should change their policies on deportation because it violates the constitutional rights and exposes the inequality towards immigrants.

Propaganda Effects on the Animals in Animal Farm The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines propaganda as the spreading of ideas for the purpose of helping or injuring an institution, a cause, or a person. In the novel Animal Farm, by George Orwell, propaganda is the main focus of the book. The animal leaders of the Animal Farm, Squealer and Napoleon, abused their powers to become avid propagandist to the working class animals on the farm.

In April 2010, the state of Arizona passed what is now known as the most controversial immigration enforcement law. The “Support Our Law Enforcement and Safe Neighborhoods Act”, later referenced as SB 1070, required immigrants to carry they registration document on their person at all times. This would seem like reasonable expectation, that one must always carry identification documents on them. However, the controversy surrounds the part of the bill that “requires police to question people if there’s reason to suspect they are in the U.S. illegally” (Bash, 2010). This created a statewide discrimination against Latinos as well as other who looked to be of foreign descent.

Capital punishment is execution, which can furthermore be identified as the death penalty, has been a hot topic in the public eye for a while. The question on lots of minds is whether it is acceptable for the state to terminate one’s life for the crime they have committed. A significant question that we will address is whether or not capital punishment should be allowed. By inquiring more information about this topic people should be able to formulate their own opinions on this debate. As I began to research further into this issue, I became aware that plenty of people agree with the idea of capital punishment being endorsed; however, I believe in order for the public to recognize all the factors that apply to this debate, asking this question will not only be the key to finally finding closure, but it will help them articulate their own views.
