My part in this program was to take the data that was just queued from the database and stored in a variable and check to see the status of the device. If it was “in use”, it was look at the other columns in the table to see if it was assigned to a student or staff member and at what building they are located at. If they were a staff member it was to move the Chromebook to the staff OU in the correct building, otherwise it would move the student Chromebook into the correct grad year in the correct building. If the Chromebooks state was something else it would move it to the correct OU in the correct building. It also needed to check the name because some Chromebooks had a different name and had to go in a totally different OU. Lastly if …show more content…
When it was running we keep checking the error log file and were expecting a few data entry errors, due to typing something incorrectly, but it started to fill up more than we expected. We all were working on checking the data in the asset management system and in Google to see why the errors were coming up. The Chromebook’s data was correct in the asset manager but not moving the device in Google. Once it was done there was almost a thousand errors that we were not expecting. We were all were working quickly to diagnose the issue because the deadline was at midnight, only a few hours away. A few hours into troubleshooting I was looking into the structure of the Google domain and found that one of the building name had an “s” after it, unlike the other buildings. We re-ran the program and all of the error went away. This whole experience was nothing like I had in school because if you are stuck you could ask the professor or the TA, but in this case, everyone on the team did not know the answer but was looking to find one. This was one of the most impactful parts of the internship, because it showed that even the most experienced people still get stuck on problems that they don’t know the solution to. As a software developer, you are always looking to find a solution to a problem they you are given no matter how hard it is. If you don’t know something try and learning it, so they you can better

Legendary investor Warren Buffett has held stock in The Coca-Cola Company (KO) for decades. His position through Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A) (BRK.B) amounted to 400 million shares at last count and made up over 15% of Berkshire’s portfolio. Buffett’s investment serves other KO investors well because it adds an element of stability to the stock price, and Buffett has no plans to sell his shares in KO in the works. Other prominent investors with positions in KO at last measure included Yacktman Asset Management with 39 million shares and Eagle Capital with 22.3 million shares. We like Yacktman’s and Eagle’s positions because like Buffett at Berkshire, these funds are value-driven and not entirely motivated by short-term profits, taking a

An organizations goals and objectives can be accomplished through leadership. Leadership refers to inspire people to contribute and perform well in the management. It is a role of management and leading others towards the achievement of the common goals (Channappa, 2012). Daft (2012) reported that “ In today’s world, industries, technologies, economies, governments, and societies are in constant flux, and managers are responsible for helping their organizations navigate through the unpredictable with flexibility and innovation” (p. 4). A good manager is needed in every management because he or she is the one who determine the successes and future of the management (Daft, 2012). He or she is also the one to persevere unremittingly in facing the failure. As elaborated by Griffin & Ebert (1996), there are four vital steps in the management process which are planning, organizing, leading and controlling (refer to Figure 1 in Appendix 1).
As part of the portfolio management system, a selection criterion is used to determine which projects are most in accord with the organizations mission. Selection criteria is usually either financial or non-financial. In the example provided we are considering which project will meet the needs of high annual cash flow for the small startup company. Using the financial criteria for selection we will employ the payback model, which allows for the direct assessment of future cash flows. This model measures the time it will take for the recovery of the project investment (Larson & Gray, 2011). The limitations of this model are the assumed cash flow during only the investment period, the exclusion of profitability, and the effect of the time value of money (Murphy, 2016).
