“Yea!” Jack hollered, as he was dogpiled onto the dirty field. Jack was a towering, athletic boy who enjoyed baseball. He played pitcher and his team had just won the Little League World Series! However, they were so busy celebrating that no one noticed a gloomy shadow take their gleaming gold trophy. The shadow crept back to his car and drove silently away.
“Guys! Where’s the trophy?” asked Chris, Jack’s best friend. Chris was a big and powerful 1st baseman. “It vanished,” said the umpire. Chatter burst through the crowd and everyone was astonished. Jack was both troubled and thrilled. Jack cherished mysteries, but had no idea where to start looking for the trophy.
“Did anyone notice anything suspicious?” asked Jack.

When they arrived at one of the hotel rooms, Jack and Chris started searching for clues. They couldn’t find any clues, so they decided to leave.
While they were walking home, they spotted someone who looked like the announcer from their game. He was holding a massive gold object and it looked like the trophy!
“No way, that can’t be the trophy,” said Jack.
At that moment, the announcer spun around and saw them looking at him. He had heard rumors that the trophy had been stolen and got nervous that they suspected him of stealing it. Jack and his friends became anxious and dashed away. They were afraid that the announcer had realized that they suspected him and the announcer would kidnap them.
They ran to the baseball fields, darted into the concession stand and locked the door. It looked like someone had left in a hurry because the door had been left partially open. Chris spotted a laptop that was sitting on the counter. There was a blog post on the computer that dated back to the year 2000. It was obvious that someone had been reading the post. The post was about the Little League World Series championship. There was a picture of the pitcher from the defeated team in the blog. It looked like a younger version of the concession stand manager. Chris asked what the name of the concession stand manager was. Then he saw a nameplate that read Brad Low. The name Brad Low was on the screen.
In the blog, Brad was quoted as saying that he was
Jack’s selfishness did not take long to affect their chances to be saved, and get home. All of the boys had their mind set on getting back home and staying on task, except for Jack. They made a fire in hope for ships passing by to save them; they had shifts to watch over the fire, and Jack and his hunters did not watch over the fire when it was their
It’s right on my dresser with all my other ones. It’s very valuable to me. My family always wanted a good wrestler in the family, but now they have three good wrestlers: Tahjae, Jallele, and I. Tahjae and Jallele are my brothers; they have just as many trophies as me, and we’re currently ranked top 10 in the country in a weight classes and age group. We’re always competing for trophies, and seeing who has the most, right now Tahjae has the most since he is still currently an 8th grader. Little league they tend to have a lot more tournaments where you can earn trophies. Therefore, high school has only one tournament, sometimes no tournaments, you have the opportunity to earn a trophy. So Tahjae is always rubbing it in my face how he has more, but I can always bring up that I was the first one with a trophy. Over the summer is also another time where I can earn more trophies, but the same for my other
According to Bob, YOUR thoughts, attitudes, values, and beliefs show in your life and your kids learn a lot through what they live with you. A trophy doesn’t have any of that..” A child who has a flair for a sport for example, will win because they can, not because of a mini statue of feign significance. Trophies are expedient because they help encourage young athletes to achieve more. In conjunction Cook recognizes that “ the real issues aren’t magically fixed simply by [scuttling] a trophy from the picture.” This is very candidly spoken because, it’s not about a score, it’s about making children grow and letting the youth call their own shots. Loading kids with hordes of pressure to be the best will only make them think less of themselves, because maybe being the best isn’t what they really want. People need to stop acting like private envoys to their children, and more like parents who truly support
The Lord Stanley Cup. The oldest trophy competed for by professional athletes in North America and the greatest thing NHL hockey players dream of to hoist and kiss after a season. Training, practicing, motivation and pushing themselves to get better is what all these players put the hours into for that moment. After battling 82 games for a playoff spot, then continuing to win 4 playoff rounds, of best of seven series, they finally get to have the moment they’ve all been working and dreaming for as a kid. To raise the Cup, kiss it, scream, and then pass it to your fellow teammate. But that’s not why they do it. They do it because they had a dream as a kid and know the history behind what the Cup represents to
Chris Givens was a middle school boy and he loved to play baseball. Chris lived and breathed baseball. He would watch every game he could. Also, the only sport he played was baseball so he was the best at it. However, there was one problem for Chris. He was not one the most popular kids. Only the most popular kids were picked onto the school's baseball team. Chris had tried to act cool and even hang out with cool kids, but it never worked out. Even though Chris was not like everyone on the baseball team he is determined to be the first kid to make the baseball who wasn’t popular.
Five years have passed since Matt was named MVP of the World Series, he now has an MVP award Too. His rookie of the year award MVP the World Series and season MVP, all looked nice in the marble mantel especially next to the picture of his father. He was listening to the broadcast of the bombing of Pearl Harbor ,and how the United States entered the war. Memories struck him when he remembered the consequences of the Great War .After a tear rolled down his cheek, he turned off the radio.
It was a hot summer day, and Jackson was at his house getting ready for his baseball game. He was very anxious because if his team won the game they would be able to qualify for a tournament, that a lot of teams from other states would be participating in. But, before all of that came they needed to win this game. Jackson got his hat and went to the car, where his dad was waiting for him. On the way to the field his dad encouraged him to try his best and help his team. An hour later after they warmed up, the game started. Then, two hours later, the game ended and Jackson's team won four to two.
The time had finally come for the boy and his father to head downtown to the stadium. As they got closer to downtown, traffic began to back them up for miles. The boy began to worry that they would ever make it to the game on time, creating an illusion of an endless line of cars blocking them from the stadium. Alas, they made it through the disruptions and had arrived at the ball park, the boy looked on in awe, as it was bigger than he ever imagined. Their tickets were scanned, and walked to their seats, first row behind the dugout; the most plum seats in the whole place. The game began with the toss of the first pitch, as the opposing batter stood at the plate; the crowd let out roaring boos. The boy asked his father why they were yelling at the player, his father began to explain he had been caught cheating with steroids and will forever have an asterisk next to his name because of it, all the fans despised him. As the game carried on, each team went back and forth scoring runs until it was tied in the bottom of the 9th inning. The boy’s favorite player was up to bat, and with one swing of the bat, sent the ball over the fence for the game winning homerun. A nuclear cheer erupted throughout the entire stadium as everyone celebrated winning
The symbol that used to mean a lot to everyone in Macon, not only the players, is the second place trophy in the 1971 Illinois state baseball tournament. This trophy, sitting on a shelf in a gas station, represents everything that the Macon team went through to get to this prestigious stage with the best of the best. Under the coaching of Mr. Sweet the Ironmen conquered the impossible, twice.
To start, trophies are a thing that was brought into this world for people who win a game. sociologist Hilary Levey Friedman says, "That first participation trophy, it does mean something, especially among the younger kids. The children see them more as symbols and remembrances of an experience," participation trophies are for people who earned it, not for people who didn't do anything on their team.
The dated but not dusty trophy bowl was replaced with two engraved wine glasses to be given to this year's winner. Congratulations to Kelly Bramell for receiving the Captain's Trophy. Cheers!
Sam Anderson frantically searched for the tie in the extremely disorganized home of the Marquez family. Tonight, she had reluctantly agreed to volunteer for the role of dressing and preparing the couples’ oldest son, Joel, who was now eight years of age, for their youngest son’s first birthday. Joel Marquez contained an overwhelming amount of trickery and holy terror for an eight year old boy, most of which was targeted at Sam, his babysitter. Sam asked Joel nearly every two minutes if he had seen the tie recently. Every time he giggled, and answered no.
All the emotions started sinking in as we started to cry with joy. After all the crying, we went to say “good game” for sportsmanship and returned to the mound to complete a bet. We bet Coach Cadena that if we went undefeated for the whole season, the team got to dogpile on him. And we did. All of us returned to the dugout with all of our families and the baseball team congratulating us. Seeing my fathers’ face with a huge smile made me feel so great he got to see me play with four single hits and no outs. I made a contribution to the game that I was awarded second region team. During the end of the awards ceremony, when we hold the championship plaque, all of us had the biggest smiles on our faces and returned home with
This Little League baseball scandal took place in 2001, a little before the devastating day of the Twin Towers’ attack. Danny Almonte, a fourteen-year-old boy, was accused and for cheating in the Little League by lying about his age. The age requirements to be in these teams is 9-12 years of age, so Danny was about 2 years off. Him and his team made it to the Little League World Series, however had to forfeit before the last round, due to Sports Illustrated wanting to dig into Almonte’s information, being their nosy selves, they found what they wanted. They found Almonte’s real birth records from Dominican Republic, where he was originally born, that showed he was actually fourteen.
4. The climax of the story is found when Jack and his newfound friends come up upon some robbers in the house the animals and Jack were planning to occupy that evening. Jack skillfully devises a plan to rid the house of the robbers and uses his animal friends to help him. With teamwork, the plan becomes a success and they are able to spend the night in the house the robbers had just fled from. This paragraph from "How Jack Went to Seek His Fortune" unravels the climax of the story and allows readers to engage in a suspenseful event, and it states,
