“Hard right!” shouted my brother. Immediately, I threw the flight simulator into a massive right turn, hoping to line up for a shot at an enemy. Unfortunately for us, it was a little too massive, and we swung to the side, facing the wrong way. I wrestled the controls, and finally stabilized on target. “Nice shot,” I said, as my brother shot down the fighter we were tailing. We flew forward, and I glanced at the radar. I turned to face the nearest enemy on the radar. However, I had pulled too hard on the turn, and went spinning out of control. The plane did a barrel roll as I fought my way to stability. The unfortunate incident aside, I was in a better place than before. I adjusted slightly and got the angle close enough that my brother was
It seemed like ages before he was free. He ran back towards the British line, expecting at any moment to feel a bullet rip through him. Then, out of the blue, a single shot rumbled across the dormant battlefield. Ed spun around just in time to see the German commander’s pistol smoking. The machine gunner who had spared his life was slumped over, motionless.
Put the gun down! Put the gun down! Pow Pow Pow. The gun shots cracked into the air as loud as thunder. One after another. We live day by day not knowing our end. In the blink of an eye our lives can be changed forever. Its life, yet even in knowing this we never expect tragedy to find us. We never expect it to affect our lives and the people we know and love. I’m going to share with you the day tragedy found my life.
First of all I was in my dark room with the only light being my t.v, I playing Xbox with my friend Skylar, we were playing Rainbow Six Siege a counter terrorism shooter. It was a late on a dark, stormy night, it was bomb objective and only I was left on the team to face five other enemies defusing the bomb and I slowly and stealthy with his silenced pistol picked off about two enemies outside the objective roaming and then pulled out his primary the 416-C Assault Rifle and went in blazing in the objective and his heart was racing he picked off another two enemies and that’s when he began guarding the defuser waiting to find the last enemy. “Can you search cams Skylar?” I asked Skylar.
There he was sitting in the bleachers waiting for the game to be over hoping that it wouldn't be long. His little brother, Mike, was playing a lacrosse game, the hardest one of their season. Mike was pretty good, but not as good as the people on the other team. The score was 17-2, they were ranked number two in the state, but these guys were number one.
Quickly, I make my way to the waiting Blackhawk helicopter. Even with my full combat load strapped to my back the rotor wash threatens to push me over. My face is pelted with grass and other debris; motivation and determination makes me run harder. As I reach the Blackhawk the Black-shirt directs me to one of four repel lines anchored to the aircraft. I wrap the line through my d-ring and climb into the cabin. I wait, crouched in the doorway, for my three other comrades to finish their hookup. The Black-shirt completes his check of our hookups and gives the pilot the thumbs-up. Abruptly, the helicopter lifts into the air leaving my stomach somewhere below.
Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment read white letters on top of an electric blue cover. My fingers grazed the lamented face of the book. I found myself falling back onto a brown leather couch in an uninhabited and silent house. The only thing that could be heard was the sound of wind running through the trees in my backyard, and my accelerated heartbeat as I looked at this new book. I opened it up daring to step in a world foreign to me. The thin paper pages were covered with a plethora of words. From there on I couldn’t tell you anymore. I was lost on a guided tour in my own imagination. I was lost in with the flock of bird kids who never met their parents. I was lost in the fight for survival as a group of mutant children with 14 foot wings
I was born on April 30th, 1981, in the small city of El Progreso, Honduras. Honduras is a country located in Central America. I regret that I don’t have many memories of my childhood, but I do have one fond memory. I remember my next-door neighbor would grow chickens. He had an incubator that he used to hatch baby chickens and I would play with them. I believe I had a good childhood growing up in Honduras, however, everything changed at the age of five. At the age of five I began having complications with my breathing and after a while my mother decided to take me to the hospital. The doctor’s discovered that I had a benign tumor between my lungs. My mother often tells me the memories of the events that transpired next: visiting hospitals in El Salvador, buying medicine from “herbal doctors,” and
We flew in different directions before the plane could see the two of us. It wasn’t very sunny due to the amount of clouds so I used them to hide. I kept my ears and eyes out for a fellow plane and instantly saw one. Gunshots fired and I knew my brother was playing poker with the flyer. I saw the other plane move up to help his comrade when I appeared on his side easily picking him off. I didn’t recognize his signia and knew that he was a new player in the game. His plane caught fire and dove toward the ground, exploding on impact. I heard more gunfire and saw my brother getting shot at. I turned the plane and followed the red flyer. When I got him in my sight, I fired. More gunshots followed and my brothers plane started
The week one Gamescape Simulation was very helpful to me. I wont lie, I was feeling somewhat overwhelmed as to how to approach each ressource provided by the University. I am very glad that we will have these simuations every week. Each resource was explained to me very clearly, but to me the most valuable one would definitely be the University's library. The library will provide me with peer reviewed articles. These articles are written by scholars, and by other respected proffessors. In turn, it will facilitate my academic growth in the University of Phoenix.
Twenty-One Pilots are the first act to top pop songs and alternative songs. Back in February 21 of 2017 was one of the best days of my life. That date was when I went to my favorite band’s concert in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I will never forget that date, it took place at the BOK Center were many artists go to perform. My mom and I went, my dad also but he didn’t go to the concert. I got two tickets because I thought one of my friends could go with me but they could not afford it. All the money we spent that week was worth it I do not regret anything.
Like everyone else, I was very nervous for my first simulation experience mostly because I wasn’t sure what to expect. Before the simulation started my partner agreed he would focus on administering medications and that I would focus on doing the assessment and helping with whatever else the patient needed at that time. After talking to the patient for a little, we discovered that he was having difficulty breathing. What we did first was elevated the head of the bed. He said he was still having trouble, so I ensured his nasal cannula was working properly and asked him to do some deep breathing exercises with me. That still wasn’t helping so I knew that albuterol, a fast-acting bronchodilator, would need to be administered before any other med.
“I fired on 7 machines on the aerodrome, some of which had their engines running. One of them took off and I fired 15 rounds at him from close range 60 ft. up and he crashed. A second one taking off, I opened fire and fired 30 rounds at 150 yds, range, he crashed into a tree. Two more were then taking off together.I climbed and engaged one at [less than] 1,000' finishing my drum, and he crashed 300 yds. from the aerodrome. I changed drums and climbed E.A fourth H. [Hun or Hostile] A. [Aircraft] came after me and I fired one whole drum into him. He flew away and I then flew
Then, in a blink of an eye, T-fighters begin firing laser beams or projectiles at the back of the individual’s piloted X-wing. In a series of slopes and hills, riders will attempt to outmaneuver their X-Wing Starfighter against the T-fighters. Riders may have the option to increase their speed and velocity. Next, the riders or pilots will attempt to lose T-fighters with an extremely precise and difficult centripetal force turn.
I, as a boy, game too much...but, throughout my time I have learned a lot. Not just strategies in how to win, but how to face challenges. Believe or not, confronting problems in games helps out problem solving in the real world. Once in my virtual life, on the game Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, I faced on a challenge that need my maximum effort. It was a one versus five situation; me against five other people.
People always ask “How hard is it to start your helicopter?” and my usual response is “It’s actually quite difficult”. There’s a right way and a wrong way to start our [St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office] helicopter. If you skipped or missed a step during the start sequence, you stand the risk of “cooking” a $250,000-dollar jet turbine engine. First and foremost, when you climb into any aircraft; helicopter or airplane, you should follow the Cockpit Preflight Checklist. For instance, in our helicopter the Cockpit Preflight Checklist includes the following; shoulder harnesses locked and checked; overhead switches and breakers, verified; instruments are verified in their static state; fuel valve is on; the force trim and hydraulic boost switch are in the
