In The Great Gatsby, the characters, Jay Gatsby and Daisy Buchanan are said to be in love, but in reality, this seems to be a misconception. In The Great Gatsby, Fitzgerald portrays the themes of love, lust and obsession, through the character of Jay Gatsby, who confuses lust and obsession with love. By the end of the novel however, Jay Gatsby is denied his "love" and suffers an untimely death. The author interconnects the relationships of the various prominent characters to support these ideas.

Popular opinion paints Gatsby as such: A man desperate for love, devoid of any evil. But a closer look uncovers a new side of Jay Gatsby because Gatsby, underneath his glorious façade, is a sociopath.

F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel The Great Gatsby is the story of one man searching for a long-lost love and the struggles he goes through to get her back. It is the story of Jay Gatsby, his wealth, and most importantly, his awe-inspiring love for Daisy Buchanan, his first and only true love. The love needs to be a “once in a lifetime” kind of love. Finally, there has to be a resolution to the problem between the lovers, which will then unite the lovers. F. In The Great Gatsby, there is not just one pair of people who fall in love; there are multiple.

Love is full of complications that lead to sorrow and pain. Although such pain may be worth it to many people, it can affect people in various ways. The Great Gatsby, written by F. The main character, Gatsby, was a true example of someone who had achieved the American Dream. The novel includes Gatsby and Daisy's struggle of being together and finding true happiness, which is also true with Dexter Green, and Judy Jones in Winter Dreams. In The Great Gatsby, the main character Gatsby is obsessed with obtaining Daisy too fulfill his American dream, in the same way Dexter tries to achieve
