The Greatness of Leonardo da Vinci Leonardo da Vinci is known as one of the greatest artiest and scientist of our time. He was a famous artist, architect, musician and scientist.
He was one of the first to take a scientific style towards understanding how our world works and how we see it. While critically influenced by the writings of the ancient Greeks and Romans, Leonardo, unlike many of his colleagues, saw the limitations of seeking the truth solely in those writings or the Bible (Leonardo’s Window). Leonardo had a unique ability to observe nature and recreate it. His tireless passion for his work and his individual way of thinking was seen in all his works. He was a genius at everything he did. In this paper I am going to talk about Leonardo’s ways of thinking, his Art, and where he came from. Leonardo da Vinci (April 15, 1452 – May 2, 1519) was an Italian polymath, having been a scientist, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist, painter, sculptor, architect, botanist, musician and writer (Leonardo Da Vinci). Leonardo was born in Vinci in 1452. Leonardo’s father was a Notary and his mother was a peasant girl named Caterina. Leonardo was obviously very talented artistically and because of that he was educated in the studio of the famous Florentine painter, Verrocchio. Many important painters were taught by him. da Vinci’s early working life was spent in the service of Ludovico il Moro in Milan (The Comlpete Works).
