The Green Party Analysis

After the American states drafted the Constitution, there were conflicting ideas concerning how the states should be governed. Some believed that a strong federal government should wield most of the governing powers, but there was another group that opposed a strong federal government. This group, known as the Republicans, believed that the majority of governing powers should reside in state legislatures. Republicans felt that the powers of the federal government should be limited, and the Republicans believed that the Constitution supported this idea.

Sometimes, voting for a third-party candidate can be seen as “worse than wasted,” such as in the 2000 election (Disch 2002). In winning 2.7 percent of the vote, Ralph Nader, the Green Party candidate drew away votes from Al Gore, which may have lost Gore the election, and didn’t even achieve the 5 percent needed for public financing (Disch 2002). The election of 2000 showed the biggest problems of voting for a third-party candidate. Green voters gained nothing from voting for Ralph Nader, and allowed a party even further away from their own preferences to gain power.

The Green Parties primary goal is to help state parties, but they’re committed to many other things to help better the environment for the people. They’re committed to environmental wisdom, peace, social justice, and grassroots organizing. They care a lot about the environment and economy because they both affect the citizens in a variety of ways; the people are their main priority. The Green Party is democratic so all their focus goes straight for the good of the public, every decision, every donation because they receive donations from big corporations, and all their time. For example, if the issue is Universal healthcare, all of their time will go into fulfilling and solving that issue. They’re not as popular as other political parties but they do get the word out there and people follow. They believe that the political system is broken and that’s what grabs the public attention, because a lot of people know that huge corporations like the Koch brothers for example, control part of the government with their money so they can do whatever they please and dump a bunch of waste into our shores. The Green Party wants to attack and straighten that problem, so the top 1% can’t pull things like that. Real leadership is in this party, and that’s what the people like.

Peace, love, equality, the environment, and global unity are all interests of the Green Party. They abolish the death penalty and consider the government to have cruel and unusual punishment. They are oppose the death penalty citing racial bias, failure to deter crime, widespread errors, and humanitarian objections.When it comes to the Military, the Green Party believes in demilitarizing. Demilitarization is the reduction of the Military which involves the reduction of the army, weapons, and military vehicles. An interesting fact about demilitarization is that it is usually the result or outcome of a major conflict or a peace treaty ending a war. Moving on, abortion is believed to be a choice among the pregnant mothers. The Green Party support full access to abortion, with funding, for all women in the U.S. and around the world.

Whereas the Republican platform may differ from year to year based on whoever is nominated for president, the Green Party, say, has a rather grounded and unchanging platform, independent of who is the head of the party at a particular time. Put in these terms, it is now unsurprising that many Americans, instead of being forced into either the “Republican” or “Democrat” box, feel that, even if the chance of their party winning the election is slim to none, their personal and political beliefs are better represented by a third party. The Green party has become imperative for the 21st century yet without it being a major political party people rather choose the “less of two evils” and instead become mad at the green party when it begins to take away votes for the Democratic Party an idea that grew from Nader’s candidacy which allowed George W. Bush to take the win “Social movements die in the Democratic Party but they grow in dependent, alternative parties” (TruDeau). Like many people who believe in the Green Party or who simply care about the environment or are increasingly becoming more aware of the harm we are doing to the earth it is becoming clear that the world needs to stray away from the duopoly system if we want to aim for those changes to be made. As small as they may seem now third-party candidates are imposing a threat to Democrat and Republicans and are being pushed back into corners. However I believe there will come a point where gaining money and economical stimulation will no longer be priority. The world is slowly running out of its natural resources and we are creating problems that are on the verge of causing the death of the planet and everyone in it. The world needs help but many live under the mentality that it wont happen in our lifetime but it is very real and we cannot live under the assumption that it will not happen and simply leave our children to fight to stay alive. It states that Canada’s environment has been a prime resource of a successful and flourishing economy. The party believes that we are treating our environment more like a business in liquidation. Furthermore, they feel we are destroying our environment through excessive wastefulness of natural resources and a consistent lack of protection for the environment. Leaving a “legacy” that future generations will be left to clean up. The green party is a strong supporter of collectivism rather than individualism considering that they long to create a healthy future for all Canadians. Overall Texas is a republican party the reason is that the middle class has a higher income and vast majority of Texans have a higher education. Here in the valley we do not experience it as other parts of Texas because we tend to vote or agree more with the Democratic Party. American and Mexican cultures became very prominent in the southern part of Texas. The reason that we have different point of views can be that the border and our traditions has affected us. Most of the people from the valley are poor and do not have any education. For all this reasons we tend to vote more for democratic candidates who offer better opportunities for the poor.

Since the early start of the United States, there has always been the Democratic and Republican parties as majority leaders that represented our people’s nation. Due to the questionable leadership of our major parties, a growing trend of independent groups began to develop over the last several years. Many conservative Americans today do not feel that their Republican party is representing what they believe how America’s government should be run. Between fraud, scandals and Republican leaders poorly representing their supporters within the senate and the house of representatives many Americans have lost faith in their party. After taking the, Political Party Quiz, I checked the results and found out I stand very far to the right on the political spectrum. This surprised me mostly because the majority of my family falls further on the left side. Researching the issues on the quiz soon after I realized that I have been exposed to many of these prior to the quiz.
