Happiness belongs to Hedonism. If one experience more happiness during life, his life will be better.
Happiness is something that all people, no matter what race, gender, or social class, strive for. Based on lifestyle or perspective each person has their independent idea of what happiness is, but everyone shares an end goal to live their definition of a happy life. Many people, though, struggle in finding their way to this goal. They face hardships and challenges that test their happiness every day. Happiness, though somewhat indirectly, does take learning and training to discover and maintain.
In the words of Mahatma Gandhi, “Happiness is when you want to think what you think what you say, and what you do are in harmony.” Describing happiness can seem as ambiguous as accomplishing and achieving it. Without help, we as different individuals all have the same want---- happiness. However, the satisfaction in life can not be defined through just one definition or study. The concept of happiness and it’s sources have been defined through religious, psychological and abstract ground. People in general are happier when they are around a set of people that uplifts them, because psychologically their happiness is affected by their environment.
People tend to feel the most happiness in their daily lives rather than happiness over all. For instance, if someone opens the door for you, does something outrageous, tells a funny story or simply reacts kindly to you, you can experience happiness. Laughing at someones joke can cause you to feel happy even for just a moment. Another definition of happiness in our daily lives is self appreciation such as, getting that new raise, getting an A on a test or even getting into the college you want. These examples all cause happiness in different but still rather large ways. We seem to think that happiness is so difficult to come by, we focus so hard on what happiness is that we don't even realize the simple things in life that are truly making a difference. We can become significantly happy without even noticing. Although happiness seems like it’s hard to find it’s not all that difficult. What’s hard to come by is the feeling of genuine happiness ; genuine happiness is what people truly look for.
Happiness is something very abstract and it differs from individual to individual. I always feel that a poor man will always be thankful to the almighty even if he is provided with two square meals a day but at least he can sleep happily with no stress; on the other hand a rich man will always be unhappy throughout his life either in the pursuit of creating wealth or in the tension of safeguarding his wealth. Accumulating wealth is extremely time consuming and time once lost cannot be regained; moreover, not all have the potential and skills of earning which is always coupled with hard work and
What is happiness? A feeling or euphoria or a feeling of accomplishment, perhaps both? Is happiness something we can create or something that appears to us when we need it most? I feel that happiness is something that is unique to each person. What fills me with inner joy might not for others and vice versa. Happiness is subjective, but one thing I think everyone will find is that a part of their happiness is found in growing as a person. Life begins at the end of your comfort zone and maybe happiness is found there too! For me, happiness is best achieved when I am growing as a person. Working through obstacles that have come up in my path, expanding my horizons through meeting new people, or learning something new in a class. I have come to see that when I push myself out of my comfort zone (physically or emotionally), this is where I find happiness.
Throughout history humankind has been trying to define happiness. What is it exactly and how do we obtain it? We always think that happiness is a place to be or a destination and technically, that is the main premise or goal of our lives; to obtain happiness. So our whole lives go by from the minute were born to the last breath we take in a quest to work hard in order to reach that destination. Naturally, many philosophical writers have jumped on the bandwagon and put in their two cents of their views on the matter of happiness. Alexander Pope talks about the relationship and purpose man has to the universe in An Essay on Man, Voltaire wrote about living in blind optimism with a false notion of happiness in Candide, and Samuel
Happiness is not a strange term to us. We usually use that word to express our feelings in every day. Additionally, more than a word, “happiness” is what we really need and always seek in life. However, finding and understanding deeply its meaning is not easy. The online dictionary, “vocabulary.com” defines, “Happiness is a sense of well-being, joy, or contentment. When people are successful, or safe, or lucky, they feel happiness.” Thus, we always wonder if we are happy or how could we be happier in our life. Happiness, therefore, becomes a goal for everybody.
Happiness is often explained as a sense of well- being, joy, or contentment. I believe happiness is exactly that, but it has many factors that come into this word. Many things make people happy, such as love, becoming successful, having a family, or other things. Happiness is brought out everyday in people. For many people the littlest aspects of life are what make them content.
Ben-Shahar defines happiness as “the overall experience of pleasure and meaning” (33). It means that people obtain positive emotion from their action while they feel their life as purposeful. Simply, pleasure is the experience of positive emotion about the present benefit. Meaning which has the purpose about the future benefit comes from people’s action. But people have either pleasure or meaning is not enough for happiness. People consume ecstasy-inducing drugs or spend their free time lay down on the beach. They cannot get the happiness even though they experience positive emotions. Therefore, people’s action requires having both pleasure and meaning in order to reach the happiness
Because the secret is that happiness is simply a by-product of creating and living a life that works, a life that you enjoy - whatever that is. Happiness comes from doing what you what, where you want to do it, who whom you want to do it with.
Happiness is an absolute necessity throughout everyday life. Be that as it may, what on earth is happiness? A few people are happy when they get a raise, while others are glad when they've discovered their genuine romance, as for me; I find happiness by spending time with my loved ones. Clearly, individuals will have a distinct meaning of happiness. Why is it hard to characterize, or rather find and accomplish happiness? I think the real determinant lies in a man's state of mind. As I would see it, there is little relationship between the conditions of individuals' lives and how cheerful they are. A minute's appearance should make this self-evident. We know individuals who have a moderately simple and agreeable life, but then are basically
In order that people understand a topic, they have to decompose topic’s meaning by many ways. The meaning of happiness is a challenge question to everyone. It can be interpreted as many different meanings for different groups of people. The meaning from Google shows that it is a state of being happy; likewise, the definition of Cambridge Dictionary explains that it is the feeling of being pleased, or happy. However, these definitions are too vague because the state of being pleased or happy is not a situation how everyone defines it. There is always an argument between how people provide the meanings of happiness. The reason is that everyone has the different points of view depending on their various kinds of cultures and the differences in
What is happiness? Is it spending time with friends or family? Or is it having food laid out on the table? Could it be playing games or watching TV? Happiness is the satisfaction resulting from the ability and freedom to do what one wants to be doing.
