The Holocaust was the mass killing Jewish people, and other ¨undesirables¨, by the Nazi party during World War Two. The mass execution of Jewish People in concentration camps was so awful that the term genocide was coined to describe the horror (What). The appalling actions of the Nazi party can not be denied because there is evidence from everything that went on. Whether it is from former inmates telling their story, army personnel that personal saw the conditions in the camps, or Nazi officials testimony from trials after the war. The Holocaust is real and one of the most horrific events of the 20th century.
The Jews in the concentration camps are the people who know the most about what went on and are one of the main reasons why people

Joseph Goebbels, the Reich Minister of Propaganda of Nazi Germany from 1933 to 1945, wrote in his journal, “Anyway, I am of the opinion that the greater the number of Jews liquidated, the more consolidated will the situation in Europe be after this war. One must have no mistaken sentimentality about it. The Jews are Europe's misfortune. They must somehow be eliminated, otherwise we are in danger of being eliminated by them¨, showing nothing but contempt for Jews (Joseph). Even after the war, during Nazi war criminal trials, like Nuremberg, testimony from the officials shed even more light on how much hatred there was for Jews. Albert Speer, the Minister of Armaments for Nazis, said during his testimony,” Hitler assured us that in case of a war, not the Germans, but the Jews would be annihilated,” and ”When speaking of the victims of the bomb raids, particularly after the massive attacks on Hamburg in Summer 1943, he (Hitler) again and again reiterated that he would avenge these victims on the Jews.” The Nazis belief that the Jews to blame for everything that went wrong in the country is shown in Speer’s testimony about Hitler. Nazi officials admitted in their own words how much The Third Reich hated Jews.
The Holocaust is real and one of the most horrific events of the 20th century. There are testimonies from army members, Jewish People who had
According to the texts and eyewitness accounts, the Holocaust had horrendous effects on the people who lived through it. During this time Jews were being rounded up and put into concentration camps by order of the German government. Writings and testimonies from survivors of the Holocaust are around even to this day. According to these sources, Holocaust survivors suffered tremendously since they were treated as less than human , they lost loved ones, and were constantly abused.
Only about 3,546,211 people survived the Holocaust. Adolf Hitler was the main leader of the Holocaust, he did this because of his discrimination of Jews. There were more than just Jews killed, there were gay people, priests, gypsies, people with mental or physical disabilities, communists, trade unionists, Jehovah’s Witnesses, anarchists, Poles and other Slavic peoples, and resistance fighters. The Holocaust happened between 1933 through 1945 in Germany and Poland. Night, is an autobiography written by Elie Wisel who was involved in the Holocaust. Auschwitz Death Camp, it is a video documentary of the death camp including Elie Wisel and Oprah Winfrey. The truth about the Holocaust to me is horrendous, all the torturing they had to go through
To me the holocaust was a terrifying and horrible. People were dying because of not getting enough food and the diseases that were being spreaded throughout the camp were all the people were. They were not treated and not feed well enough to live. Even if they did the suddenst thing they could possibly be shot of hurt by a guard. According to the website http://history1900s.about.com/od/holocaust/a/holocaustfacts.htm The Holocaust began in 1933 when Adolf Hitler came to power in Germany and ended in 1945 when the Nazis were defeated by the Allied powers. The term "Holocaust," originally from the Greek word "holokauston" which means "sacrifice by fire," refers to the Nazi's persecution and planned slaughter of the Jewish people. The Hebrew word
The Holocaust is an event in history which will be entrenched within peoples’ minds for eternity; the Holocaust affected many people, including the Jewish, the mentally challenged, homosexuals and, prisoners of war (POW). There are several accounts from survivors of the Holocaust, but many, people were not as fortunate. The horrors from this event were hidden. Yet children like Anne Frank, were terribly affected. The holocaust has affected millions of people and their story should be known.
Nowadays, people tend to forget the morality of human beings. For instance, the people in today’s world are attracted to greed or power letting their mind and body rot them. However, are we doing a right in letting people like that win? It might not seem much or anything, but as history has shown us otherwise with World War II. Like letting a tyrant leader like Adolf Hitler take over different countries and bring in what is believed the most horrific discrimination ever known. Therefore, it is right to agree with Elie Wiesel a former target of the Nazi Final Solution that the moment race and religion are involved then that soon must become the center of the universe’s attention.
In his novel, Night, Elie Wiesel recounts the horrific experiences that he faced as a survivor of the Holocaust during World War II. The following passage presents the impossible struggle to maintain a decent quality of life in the face of war:
What if there was a choice on whether to be Jewish or Non-Jewish, to either be Jewish and fight back or to go with the flow, and to be Non-Jewish and fight back or go with the flow? Being non-jewish and going with the flow would be the smart choice, if survival is the goal. In that time period being Jewish was awful. Being Jewish basically meant you were an outcast. During the Holocaust it would have been better to not be Jewish and to stay out of the way, or go with the flow.
The Holocaust is well known around the world, and many people do not realize the devastation and the technology that was used in that time. What we knew before was that the Holocaust resulted in the death of six million jews, and was controlled by the Nazi Regime. Adolf Hitler was the dictator of Germany and came up with the Final Solution, a plan to exterminate all the people of Jewish faith or race during World War II. This then brought in the concept of concentration camps. Concentration camps did not just hold Jews captive, they also targeted other groups such as Gypsies, African-Germans, Homosexuals, Atheists, and the physically and the mentally disabled. Now, it is common knowledge that that many people were killed in gas chambers or
The Holocaust occurred around the 1940’s. It was a horrific event. Nazis, an Aryan superiority race, took over Jews in Germany and proceeded to do awful things to them. The Nazis were torturing these Jews, take the littlee bit of self-confidence and recognition they had as a Jew. It was already bad enough that Jews were shunned before the Holocaust came onto the picture. During the Holocaust, millions of Jews were killed in concentration camps or work camps. They were stripped of their individuality and had no freedom really. Still to this day, no one knows exactly why a group of people would do such a thing as killing millions of innocent people. At the age of around fourteen, a young lad named Eliezer Wisel survived the Holocaust and lived
Holocaust. Hol-O-caust. Word of greek origin that means to sacrifice by fire. Now repeat it in your head a few times. The word “Holocaust” isn't just a word in the dictionary, it's more than that. In 1933, There was a man named Adolf Hitler, and he created the Holocaust. The Holocaust was when Hitler and his crew (the Nazi’s) killed over 6 million Jews because of their belief in religion. Hitler didn't want to just kill the Jews, he wanted to make them suffer, and then kill them. The Holocaust took over 6 million innocent people's lives and we cannot forget that. (paraphrased from USHMM.org)
The Jews were not the only people persecuted and exterminated by Hitler and his regime... (Resnick p. 11) Gypsies, homo-sexuals, cripples, Jehovah's Witnesses, Catholic priests, the terminally ill, and Communists would all fall victims to the hatred and brutality of the Nazis. However, the attributes that made them worthy for elimination, according to Hitler, were all
Holocaust was one of the most terrible events that happened in history. This event occurred during World War II when Hitler was the leader of Germany. In 1933 the Nazis took control of Germany. Hitler had no right to do any of this stuff to them since they didn't do anything to him. Jewish people didn't have a fun time when all of this was happening since everything was happening to them. Over six million Jewish people were murdered by the Nazis at this time. Hitler and the Nazis army used fear to gain control of the government and the German people. Hitler took over Jewish men, women, and children's lives. Hitler was that mean that everyone that opposed what he said had to go to concentration camps even if they weren’t Jewish. Hitler didn’t
The Holocaust is an indescribable blight on humanity, an atrocity that should never have happened. The callous slaughter of men, women, and children, all killed like animals, just because of an inability to tolerate something different. There are not enough words to convey just how appalling the Holocaust was, even now, 71 years later. It must have been an awful, harrowing experience for the survivors, leaving some of them wondering if death was in fact a more merciful option than staying alive during the monstrosity that was they were forced to endure. The Holocaust, such an innocent sounding word that belies the pain, was full of barbarity, and that barbarity led to six million people dying for having a specific religion, for being a Jew.
While reading the book “NIGHT” I learned a lot about the Holocaust that I never even thought could happen. Such as all the ways they were killing people, how they would separate people from their families, and how cruel the camps actually were. I knew that jewish people were getting killed but I only thought they were shot. While reading, I found out they were also burned, worked to death, suffocated, beat
People in the Holocaust suffered things that a human should never go through. People suffered starvation, cold weather, no clothes, and getting beat with whips everyday. Babies, children, kids, adults, and teenagers burned and killed everyday. Not to mention, they worked in the cold winters. Jews in the 1940’s were treated like animals and were lucky if they got a meal a day. Families were separated from each other and never saw each other again. The Holocaust will never be forgotten. A human should never go through what the Jews suffered. People were forced to help kill and burn friends, family, and people they didn’t even know. The concentration camps were impossible to escape. The barbed wire fences stood 8 feet high. The only way you could
