“The Hunt for the Wilderpeople” is an adventurous, exhilarating, and comedic movie starring Ricky Baker who is a modern and older version of Kevin McCallister from “Home Alone.” Ricky has always lived a lonely and troubled life ever since his birth mother gave him to foster care. He has been in numerous foster families, each abandoning him. However, one last family, Hector and Bella wants him Hector despises Ricky, but their relationship strengthens soon after they become outlaws. Through Ricky Baker's rebellious, caring and optimistic nature, he must collaborate with Hector as they are wanted Nation wide.
Ricky Baker has a disobedient and rebellious nature, considering he has a lonely life, filled with very little affection. The head of the foster care, Paula describes Ricky as a “bit of a handful” and lists some the many laws he has broke and behaviors he is infamous for. For example, “stealing, littering, throwing rocks, burning stuff, running away, and graffiti.” These habits have given him a disastrous reputation, making it difficult for him to find a foster family. Once in a foster family, he still exhibits some of the same behaviors, like running away. The day after moving in with Hector and Bella, he escapes during the middle of the night, taking their flashlight. He tries to run, but gets nowhere and he decides to sleep. Luckily a neighbour of Hec and Bella catches him the next day and tells him to “have some breakfast, then run away.” This act was a result of how
