‘’How much longer we got of this!’’ Morty said. Morty was a short little fellow that was very hot tempered. ‘’Just about 36 days more for you, I have approximately 278.’’ “Man this is wack!” Morty was referring to the program we signed up for, ‘’SpaceX’’. It was a program founded by Elon Musk to send Humans far passed the boundaries of space that humans have been to. Their test monkeys were “criminals’’ assigned the decision to live out their case or be have their time in jail be reduced to one tenth of their original tome and be the human subjects of future tech. You may be wondering what me and Morty are in for. My Earth case was 10 years because of ‘’Illegally transporting government documents’’. …show more content…
‘’ ‘’Do I need to rewire it again?’’ I said walking toward him with a donut filling my mouth. I found It quite relaxing not having anybody to check my manners. ‘’It be saying the wrong time it jumped 2 days since we woke up!” It probably got messed up we will just go off the written time.” I’m taking Morty back to our original planet to go back to civilization, but really I’m just picking up a new partner I thought to myself. “OH MAN WHEN I GET HOME I’M EATING SOME FLAMING HOT WINGS AND WATCHING THE BULLS GAME!” Morty Blared through the intercom of our small Spacecraft. I found it odd our normal path that we were supposed to take back to earth was jumbled and I was the only one to figure out what it meant… We were In a black hole for 5 years. I didn’t know what to say as I stared blankly into the monitor. ‘’What’s wrong G?’’ I thought back to science class. When a human enters a black hole time itself is slower. It may not seem that way to the astronaut but Earth’s rotation causes time to be sped up. ‘’W-W-We have been-been u-up here for…’’ There was a long pause as Morty looked astonished why I wasn’t acting like myself. ‘’to-ten years’’ I managed to choke out. ‘’WHAT!” Morty exclaimed with such anger it shook my head around.’’
“We are about a hour
“Burris, please bath yourself before you come back tomorrow,” I said. The foul little thing laughed at me. He spoke in an uncouth manner,
"Why do you speak to me now? I cannot bear it--after what we have seen tonight."
As you all know we are gathered here today to share our last moments with Dumby Red. My name is Gary Black, they call me blackly down at the point. I am extremely honoured to be here amongst all of you to talk about Dumby, however if I wouldn’t have meet Dumby I would not have had the courage to come speak in front of all of you.
In the novel Brave New World, by Aldous Huxley, the world as people know it is advancing technologically, scientifically, and influencing humanity in a negative manner. Huxley uses the World State to express how such advances are slowly ruining humanity. The World State and the people living in it are a prime example of how technology and science are tainting humanity and society. Throughout the novel, many connections to todays society can be clearly identified and connected to. People in the World State are mass produced through the Bakonovsky Process.
Old entities, relics of the past, can often hold value and insights into the future. Books are an especially good source of knowledge about the future. There are many literary examples of books that dissect the human psyche to the point of being able to predict possible scenarios and conflicts. The novel Brave New World, written by Aldous Huxley, is an eerie example of a book with prophetical potential. As each year passes this world is becoming increasingly more similar to the world in Aldous Huxley’s novel.
Technology, like any tool created by human imagination is put into place to help in the ways that nature cannot, to the point where a prominent definition is, “an application of science to solve a problem.” (Ramey, 2013). Huxley’s rendition of a utopia is in answer to this problem common to the race of man, the error of human nature. In this novel technology is the cure to which the virus of humanity has inject upon the world, and it is this negative relationship between creator and creation that drives the plot of the story. The reader is then put into a position of caution towards the advancement of science, Huxley’s words become a warning to protect against a future fight for the traits that define humanity. A Brave New World shows that there is no correlation between technology and humanity because they exist in two different worlds, the utopia created leading to the deterioration in the link to the basis of humanity because of the corruption of individuality, the loss of freedom, and a more importantly a lack of chaos.
I work at a restaurant in Southlands, and every night I notice that 75% of people tend to be on their phone texting, tweeting, or playing the latest game, not noticing who or what is around them. In the book Brave New World, by Aldous Huxley, this scenario was predicted. This book published in 1932, is about a dystopian society which is too busy to notice how brainwashed they are.Currently, in 2017, we live in a society where kids who are barely old enough to walk to old people in nursing homes can't get enough of their technology and are on it nonstop. A technological driven society is incapable of realizing the reality around them.
In Brave New World they highly depend on technology, that’s similar to our world because we highly depended on technology. For example in the brave new world the government is runned off of technology, they program the way people are born to how they think and act. In our world, we our similar because the media, money sources and the government controls everything that we see which bases out how we act. Despite its differences we are all monitored and controlled in several ways. The new state is a controlled society that reflects our society in a few similar ways. Their government controls and watches them and trains them to act a specific way. In our world The media, capitalist and government moniter things to try and calm
Another example of the negative side of advanced technology being depicted by Huxley in Brave New World is in how the World State replaces real emotion and individuality with conditioning and collectiveness. While the assembly line becomes a major way to create human beings, machines and objects replace human emotions, which leads to consumerism and individuality falling to the wayside. The World State is a society in which economics take precedence over emotion. Everyone is needed for their role in society—it is what they are designed for after all—but they all also need everyone else. Whether they are Alphas or Gammas, they are always aware of their own ability. Lenina is a perfect example of a person who used to live in the objects world
The entire world in Brave New World is united as the World State, governed by ten World Controllers. The entire world is run by these select people. In Brave New World technology plays a huge roll in the standards of life, and provides a 'perfect' world. Technology, which has brought mankind from the Stone Age to the 21st century, can also ruin the lives of people. In Brave New World, Huxley shows us what technology can do if we exercise it too much. Humans can lose humanity if we rely on technology too much. The world Huxley created is a working utopian society that doesn't have disease, war, problems, crisis but it's also a sad society with no feelings, emotions or human characteristics. There can be no 'utopia' because there cannot be a
wait, Mort-” I watched the old man, big brow, wearing a lab coat, really slender. I quickly grab Morty other wrist, ”Nope, you can’t have him. We is currently under my supervision and I still have another hour with him. Whatever you two need to do can wait.” I manage to pull Morty from his what seemed like a drunken grip. I watch the old man turn around slowly glaring at me, “and who might you be.”
In the novel Brave New World, it tells you that technology controls humans (also government controls) from the time they are in the test tube. Technology is so advanced that they can make you highly intelligent or not intelligent while you are still an embryo. Mr. Foster says (chapter 1, pg. 14) “The lower the caste the shorter the oxygen.” This means that one cannot have control over their own intelligence. You cannot try your best, or do more work because your intelligence is pre planed. Also, there is no choice as to whether one will allow technology to think for them, because their intelligence is chosen when one is an embryo.
So enough about me, let's talk about my latest experience in the Black Hole. The cafeteria was serving meatloaf, and everyone here knows that it's made out of horse manure and elephant dung, so I refused to eat it. One of the nurses wouldn't stop hovering over me like a hawk, telling me I had to eat it. She was getting pissed that I wasn't following the other
Back on the space ship, Mary and Celeste are in for the ride of their lives. Can you imagine a machine so big it dwarfs entire planets? Can you imagine a machine with a single goal, a single purpose? Can you see it, hovering in space, blotting out the stars, so big it bends thought? Can you imagine a machine so complex that no human has ever even tried to understand it, and yet the machine exists because humans built it in the first place?
